Talking FreakFiveOh's 2013 F-150 FX4 Build

Hey guys, welcome to my build thread! I picked up this 2013 F-150 FX4 a couple of months ago, and I've decided to start modding it, so I figured I would track my progress here.

I also decided to start making YouTube videos on everything I do to the truck, so if you want to check that out, here's the link to my channel:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGt...fIWfvVFt_E_13A

Here's my truck as it sits now:

The truck is a 5.0 with the FX4 package, so nothing too special right now. I have made one quick mod, and I've got another part sitting in the box, so you'll see those posts soon.

I also went a little crazy on Cyber Monday and ordered my suspension, wheels, and tires. I'm pretty excited to make this truck my own, and I'll take plenty of pictures and make more videos of the whole process, so let me know what you guys think!

Thanks for stopping by,

Paul

Truck mod #1: JDM ASTAR 1000 Lumen Reverse Lights

I wanted to break the ice with a cheap and easy modification, and I saw a lot of you guys recommended this as a good early upgrade. I went with the JDM ASTAR bulbs based on the cost. I was looking at the Diode Dynamics bulbs, but those get pretty pricey for the brighter bulbs, so I chose these instead. That being said, if they give me problems then I'll just replace them with something else.

Here's the before and after shots:

Before

After

It's kinda hard to tell from the photos, but in the after shot you can see how much whiter the new bulbs are compared to the cab light. I also made an install video with some before and after shots, and I think it shows the difference a little better.

So that was my first mod! I know it's nothing too excited, but I promise there will be more to come, so stick around!

Good looking truck! I think that color with the FX4 package is as good as this gen gets.

What do you have planned next?

Thanks, I like this color combo a lot as well. As far as upcoming mods go, I've got a UPR catch can to install, and I'm expecting a DeeZee tailgate assist any day now.

I also ordered an ICON Stage 2 suspension kit, new rear blocks, wheels, and tires on Cyber Monday.

After all that's done and installed, it might be a while before I do anything big. I'm going to be moving in early 2018, so I need to set aside as much money as I can for that transition.

I finally got my Cyber Monday purchases put on the truck, well most of them at least. I picked up an ICON Stage 2 kit from Stage3Motorsports, and then some Method wheels with the 35" BFG KO2s. I've still got to install the rear shocks and the center caps for my wheels, but I'm really happy with the way the truck looks right now!

Here's a nice shot of both my 5.0s

Decided to make a quick video of how I trimmed my fender liners to fit the 35s, so enjoy!

Looks good, love the Methods.

If you're still rubbing on the rear, try zip tying the fender liner back. Is it catching the lip of the flare on the back of the fender well at all?

Just out of curiosity, what is your hub to fender measurement?

So far so good, but I want to take it out on the trail and see if it still hits with a little articulation, so I'll keep the zip tie idea in mind. I don't actually know the hub measurement off hand, but I'll try to remember to check it out.

Great video! Really shows what your up against when going with 35s. I think I'm going to try and put some 35s on my 2014 as well. What is the offset on those methods?
