This caught my eye because I have the exact color scheme. Though they're different looking, now I can get a sense for what it looks like with the white/tan two-tone. I like the way it looks.

One quick question -- how many quotes, and what color, did you use for the rims? Was it just straight black? Also, they appear to have a shine to them. How much of the glossifier did you use?

Thanks DavidKR. Well done with the truck.
sorry it took me a while to get back to you. I never remember to check on my own threads haha.

so to answer your questions, I did use the plain black plastidip and I did not use any glossifier - it just looked glossy in the pictures because those were taken about an hour after I did them and they were still not fully cured. I have used glossifier on wheels in the past and it almost seems like the plastidip absorbs brake dust or something, because no matter what you do, they don't stay glossy for long. when I did the wheels on my truck I did not take them off which I regretted shortly after seeing them in sunlight and realizing I had missed several spots that I was unable to see when I inspected them with a flashlight.

I didn't mind the look of the black myself but most people told me the black wheels looked out of place. I'm still trying to decide what wheels I want to get for summer and I think I am going to go with chrome but I am torn between the Fuel Maverick and ATX Ledge.

thanks guys!

I've had too many things going on lately requiring my time and money so progress on the truck has been fairly slow. I have Mak catless downpipes, Amp power running boards and Duraflap mudflaps sitting in my garage right now and I ordered clear lens amber LED Recon clearance lights on the way which I am still on the fence on but if I do go ahead with them I will remove the Raptor lights in the grille. I also think I am going to go ahead with the Stainless Works 3.5" chambered system to pair with the downpipes so my neighbors don't kill me.

here are a few newer pictures. I think the only difference is the Recon mirror lights.

got my Amp steps on. I'll probably put on my Duraflap mudflaps tonight and try to take some better pics this weekend. I also received my clear lens/Amber LED Dodge-style clearance lights so I get to decide if I'll ever work up the ***** to install them and if I do I'll remove the grille lights.

lol I forgot about this thread. here's a quick recap of the past 14 months:

- blew engine, got new engine under warranty

- realized I was crazy for considering drilling into my roof, sold cab lights to some kid who I think put them on a Corolla

- never installed Duraflaps, they're in my basement somewhere

- sold tailgate actuator because I hate wiring and never bothered installing it

- removed Raptor grille lights and sold them to a coworker

- also got sick of the Raptor tail lights and reinstalled stock ones

- missed Raptor grille lights and bought another of the exact same one

- MBRP exhaust was rusted to **** after a year so I put the stock one back on

- CAI also seemed like a waste so I returned that to stock and sold the Airaid

- bought and installed black 17x9 +18 KMC XD Addicts and LT285/70R17 Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ tires

- chrome tail lights looked weird with the black wheels so I reinstalled the Raptor tails

- moved to Colorado, put a ****load of miles on the truck, didn't change anything for a while

- bought and installed JW Speaker LED fog lights

- ordered, had painted, and installed 2013/14 OEM Limited grille

- replaced the XDs/MTs with chrome 20x9 +18 Moto Metal MO976s and 35x12.50R20 Toyo Open Country R/T

- went back to the stock chrome tail lights again

- got both IWEs, RF axle shaft and rear sliding window replaced under warranty (window didn't blow up, defrost just stopped working)

- finally ordered/installed Leer 100XL with Thule AeroBlade rack, power actuator on the cap and they also installed a power actuator in the tailgate, and a Bedrug

and there you have it. I kind of lost interest in it for a little while but the mod bug is back and I have no idea what's next. I have lots of ideas bouncing around my head right now.

well I got bored and ordered a bunch of crap:
Solo off-road downpipes
MBRP 3" catback
MBRP 4.5" slant cut double-wall tip
aFe stage 2 intake with dry filters
aFe Bladerunner coldside charge pipe
ATP charge air cooler
UPR billet 2-valve catch can
RAT Stat 170* thermostat

everything should be here in the next week or two and I'm going to mess with a couple different tunes from MPT, 5 Star and Brew City Boost and see which I like best.

How did the engine blow? Did it just go or were there signs leading up to it?

the only signs were the ones I read about SSI tunes but chose to ignore because I wanted to go faster..

but seriously, no that was pretty much it. I had been running 5* tunes for about 10k miles, wanted something more powerful so I ordered SSI tunes and blew the engine on the very first WOT pull I made with the new file. it had been running perfectly right up until that point without so much as a hiccup. the tuner was pretty quick to tell me I had defective pistons from the factory but I'm thinking it was more about him forgetting to enable the knock sensors because apparently that's a thing he likes to do.

well I got everything but the downpipes and the catch can installed. man that thermostat install was a pain in the ***. it feels a little smoother spooling up and I've gotta say the 3" catback sounds much better to me than the 4" did. pictures to come once I get it all cleaned up.

time for another update, I suppose.

on Dec. 7 I was headed west on I-70 to go skiing on my day off. it had snowed a couple inches the night before. I was having no traction issues in the slightest and was cruising along about 60mph. an Eclipse passed me in the left lane, went to get back into the right lane and spun out in front of me. he was less than two car lengths past me when he got over so I had virtually no time to react and right as I put my foot on the brake, I t-boned the passenger side of his car and pushed him into the guardrail on the other side of the road. we were both okay, his car was damn nearly broken in half and my truck didn't look to be in too bad of shape. the driver airbag deployed and the front grille, bumper, headlights, fog lights, radiator and intercooler were clearly toast. the hood and fenders didn't seem to have any damage. so I was hoping it would be a quick fix. 2 months and 11 days later my truck is still sitting on a frame rack and reconstruction hasn't even begun. luckily since his insurance is picking up the tab, all of my aftermarket parts are getting replaced with the same ones, including my Limited grille, JW Speaker fogs, ATP intercooler and AFE charge pipe that was damaged as well. so I'm trying to look to the bright side, my truck will be back the way it was sans the rock chips and I got to put 5,500 miles and counting on Enterprise's truck instead of mine.

but I have been gathering up parts while it's been down. I ordered the Stage 3 8" lift kit which consists of a Zone 6" lift paired with the F150lifts BOSS coilovers and a Pro-Comp add-a-leaf. once the lift comes in, I will be sending it out for powdercoating in pearl white.

I'll also be going up to 37x12.50 Toyo R/Ts but am torn between a few wheels - American Force Baus, American Force Decoy, or Fuel Forged FF12 and also cannot decide between 20x10 or 22x10 - all in polished finish (opinions are most welcome here). when the 37's go on, I'll also be regearing to 4.56s, changing out the diff cover and probably laying down some POR15 on the axle so it all looks pretty.

I'd still like to get it vinyl wrapped as well but I wanna focus on all of the physical parts and save that step for last.

in the midst of all of this I'm also going through a big career change which slowed things down for the moment but, if all goes well, should lead to a substantial salary increase and more mod money in the next year or so.

so stay tuned folks, things should be getting good soon.
