I'm currently waiting on packages from Built Right Industries, RAM Mounts, and ProClip USA. They were supposed to be delivered yesterday, but we had a tornado touch down yesterday at 1AM. Lots of damage by us and a lot of areas still without power so they won't even give an estimated delivery date right now. We got about 3" of rain in just over an hour so some roads are still flooded. We had the flashing on our chimney ripped off the roof and quite a bit of water got into the basement because of that so I've been dealing with that now.

All in all, not a good week.

Back when I used to work in the emergency services (12 years combined in Law Enforcement and Fire) I had lights and sirens installed on my '15. There was a new company in the lighting industry back then called Feniex. I had their stuff installed and was pretty happy with them. My buddy just sent me this video....

Interesting....very VERY interesting.....

Talked to the service advisor again. New injectors, plugs, and wires are done. Truck is still throwing codes. Now they're talking about maybe a new short block......

Man, it does look like it's been a tough week. Not to overlook the tornado and the damage, because that seems to be more pressing, but stinks to hear about the continued truck issues. So little miles and so many mods done, and so many more to do still and you have to worry about a block replacement? Best of luck with all that, but really, hope the family is all well after the storm.

Thanks, we faired the storm pretty well considering. Luckily my wife was out of town for work so it was just me and my German Shepherd. Got up in the roof and reflashed the chimney, fixed a window, and did a bunch of caulking. There's building by us that got their roofs ripped off, so I won't complain about what happened to us.

The truck is more just disappointing. I had been looking forward to this truck for months. Got to drive it 4 days which is just long enough to really enjoy it. I'm about ready to call and escalate this with Ford tomorrow. My service advisor has called me once over the past week. I have to keep calling him to get an update and I'm pretty sure he has no idea what he's talking about. He says he wants to put a short block in which makes no sense for what my truck is doing.

So after talking to the service advisor, he pulled the technician that was working on my truck off of it and gave it to their heavy engine mechanic. He took it for a pretty thorough drive and he feels confident that it's a bad valve lifter. They won't be able to confirm until they take it apart tomorrow morning, but it sounds like it's something this mechanic has seen just recently in the 2018 5.0's. No word yet on when I'll get the truck back, but it's a step in the right direction.

So I officially called and filed a complaint with the dealership about my service adviser. It sounds like he has just been feeding lines of BS this entire time. He said I would have the truck back Wednesday, but didn't call. I call first thing Thursday morning, no answer. Call Thursday afternoon, no answer. Called the service manager and asked him what is going on with my truck. He calls me back 10 minutes later and said the service adviser never ordered the parts for the truck, so it's been sitting for the last 3 days for no reason

They manager said he will call with an update this afternoon..... if he doesn't I've had it. I'll get the truck towed to a different dealer. I'm beyond frustrated and I do custom carpentry work on the side. I'm way behind schedule now and am losing money and the dealership doesn't have any loaner trucks available. Rant over.

Default #11 BuiltRight Industries Rear Seat Release

Well, I got the truck back at lunch time today. The truck is running WAY smoother now. They replaced 4 bad fuel injectors, 3 bad spark plugs and wires, and 1 lash adjuster. Truck was in the shop for 2 weeks. But now that it's repaired, back to the mods! (it's a disease y'all!)

My 5 minute mod was the BuiltRight Industries rear seat release. Super easy to install and for me it was worth it to just spend the $35 and get something that looks nicer than what I could have easily fabricated. I know these are popular on the forums now, so let's get to the pictures.

Definitely have some more stuff to throw behind the seat in the near future, but this is a start and kind of gives an idea of how much room is back there.

Default #12 BuiltRight Industries Dash Mount and Phone Mount Parts

I have been looking for a good solid solution to mount my phone in the truck. I've had all sorts of clips and mounts from all sorts of manufacturers in the past. I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S8+. My 3 criteria were;
1) Phone/Mount does not block an A/C vent
2) Has to look good and be functional with a phone case
3) Case has to work with a belt clip holster for work.
I think I'm the first one though to combine components from this many different manufacturers. However, I am really happy with this setup. I don't know how many different products I looked at and manuals I sorted through to find all this stuff. Hopefully posting the individual links will help someone out there.

Now I just need to find a good way to discreetly run the 4' charging cables. If anyone has any insight, I'd love to hear it.

Default #13 Edge Evolution CTS2 Programmer

UPDATE: CTS2 HAS BEEN REMOVED. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT! SEE BELOW POST FOR MORE INFO.

This is one of my most anticipated mods. I was looking for something that could monitor a lot of stuff at the same time and also do some minor tuning. I am not looking to get into custom email tuning or anything like that. I want to keep it simple.

Edge Evolution CTS2 Programmer Edge Evolution CTS2 Programmer

Started by taking off the side panel to run the HDMI cable:

Then realized it would be easier to pull the A pillar off to feed the cable through.

Gotta keep it looking neat! The CTS2 is expandable so I wanted to make sure I could access the port easily in the future if needed.

Everything reassembled.

You can easily flip back and forth between 2 display screens. I think these are the 2 I like the best at this point, but every value can be changed. I'm sure I'll do some tweaking over the next few days.

I did install an Economy Tune and went for a test drive. I did learn I do not trust the MPG calculation on the CTS2 at all. It shows about 3-4 MPG less than what the truck shows. But overall I found about a 1-2 MPG increase under similar driving conditions. Maybe I'll get the bug and go up to the 91 octane performance tune eventually. This will be my last big mod for a while. Still waiting on a bunch of parts that are back ordered and I have some side work I need to get to.
