Default #10 Peragon Bed Cover

Peragon 6.5' Retractable Bed Cover

The last thing I had sitting in my basement (for now) was the Peragon bed cover. I had MX4's on my previous trucks, but I like the way the Peragon operates. It's not quite as weatherproof as the MX4, but that's not a big issue for me. I hated how the MX4 always blocked the rear windshield when folded. Options I have with the Peragon are the stainless steel hardware, quick clamps, and double lock. This thing looks slick and Heath at Peragon has been awesome to work with.

Next on the list was the Bedrug Classic liner. It was definitely a little bit of a challenge if you're a bit OCD like I am, but I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I ended up buying a roll of 3M Heavy Duty Hook & Loop to use in additional places like near the tailgate etc. All in all it took about 3 hours. This is the first time I've use a Bedrug, but having the cushioned floor now is super nice.

Looks great! Did you bedbug come creased at all inside the box? Just got mine 2 days ago and its creased pretty bad. Box was undamaged, it was just jammed in the box. Ive been letting mine sit out for a few days to try and help it go back to normal.

Yes it was. I took a 4x8' sheet of plywood and put it on sawhorses. Zipped the bedrug together and then flipped it upside down on top of the plywood so the sides draped over the edges. Took another sheet of plywood and put it on top of the bed rug. It was fully flattened in 2 hours, but I know not a lot of people have full sheets of plywood laying around.

The next thing I'm currently looking into is window tint for the front windows. Anyone have good luck with pre-cut window tint kits that you installed yourself?

2nd project is going to be a leveling kit. I have to decide between struts (Bilstein 5100's) and spacers (2"). This is something I will have installed professionally. I could do it, but my wife is against it in case anything happens. Thougths/ideas?

Also since I ran out of stuff to put on and I'm currently waiting for account approval for FORscan, I decided it was time to give the truck it's first detail. I used F11 on my wife's explorer last year and was pretty impressed with the results, but it was hard to justify the cost of it. Then a buddy told me to try Car Guys Hybrid Wax instead of F11. So after doing research on lots of products (from car wash soaps to wax sealers) I decided I was going to try the following products, in order:

1) Griot's Garage Brilliant Finish Car Wash
2) Car Guys Liquid Wax
3) Car Guys Hybrid Wax Sealant

I have yet to see if the Hybrid Wax acts like F11, but it is hydrophobic and OH DAMN, THAT SHINE!

Really like this build so far, probably because I also did a lot of what you are up to.

The tailgate step is one of those things I ordered but wasn't real sure I would need it, but has come in quite handy. Was camping last weekend, and drove the kids and my wife down to the beach so they all piled in the back. With the bedrug, and the step into the bed, it was really a fun time for them. When we got down to the beach and I put out the step, I could hear a bunch of people talking about how cool that was, and thought, yeah, the step and the bedrug just made for a cool trip tot he beach.

I also have the same short antenna, but mine didnt come with the multiple adapters, it just had the Ford one already installed.

I didn't go with the 4K Blackvue, for me it wasnt worth the jump in price, but the one I got was still spendy and do like the stealth looks and great pictures. I do find the Blackvue interface to be twitchy sometimes. Whether is be WiFi or cloud, it just seems to not want to connect all the time. I did go with the battery pack, so most of my video card gets filled up with 12 hours of parking footage.

Also, what ever happened to the CEL?

My favorite reaction to the step so far was one of my co-workers. I showed him how quickly you can deploy and then stow it and all he had to say was "GET THE F$%^ OUT OF HERE! SHOW ME THAT AGAIN!"

I went with the 4K just because I spend a bit of time in Detroit and the ability of it to capture clear license plates is pretty unmatched on the market right now. I haven't gotten a battery pack as of yet. That might be a Christmas gift idea. The only thing I don't like is for some reason I can't get the WiFi to automatically stay off. I figured if I need it I will turn it on. So as soon as I get home and get in the house my phone stays connected to the camera so I have to go and manually change it to my home network every time.

The truck is at the dealership right now getting looked at. Luckily they were able to give me a loaner, granted an escape, but it beats having nothing. I'm waiting for the service manager to call me. He suspects they need to reflash one of the modules. Having SYNC Connect and Ford Pass is pretty cool. For S&G's I logged into SYNC Connect and it instantly alerted me to multiple DTC's starting around 9:30. I'll post what they ended up doing when I get it back.

You can configure the Wifi to not turn on in the app settings. It's kind of a pain to go back and forth, but it does work.

https://helpcenter.blackvue.com/hc/e...-off-settings-

My biggest challenge was to keep the WiFi on all the time since I have the battery pack and usually park the truck where I can connect it to a hot spot. Home, work, family, etc., I can always connect to the camera. But my phone would always stay connected to the camera, so I couldn't access data. I had to reset the Wifi password on the camera itself, then connect to it on my phone, and then un-click the "automatically connect" button so if I want to connect to the WiFi on the camera, I have to manually select it, then go back to my own network when I'm done.

Other than that, you are right, great quality, even from the one I have and its not 4K.

Yeah I actually have it setup how they describe. Auto On is turned off and Auto Off is turned on. Although, I might have to try it through BlackVue Viewer. Didn't know I could do it from there. Thanks!

Ugh.... Talked to my service advisor. They thought flashing the module would fix the misfire problems. But it didn't. So they're not sure of the exact cause. They've ordered all new injectors, plugs, and wires. At this point, no idea when I'll get it back. All at 276 miles.

Sucks to hear about the issues with less than 300 miles on the truck. Any more mods on hold while these issues get worked out?
