Truck looks even better than I expected in these pics, I'm a huge fan of the 157" wheelbase trucks. Did you wax it also or just a simple wash?... can't wait until mine shows up.

Just a simple hand wash. I refuse to take my truck through a car wash. I am thinking about clay bar and waxing it this weekend, but thinking about, that means I have the tape all the graphics to wax. I've already been trying to decide if I want to leave the graphics on or take them off, but if it ends up being too much work to mask the graphics I might just take them clean off. I can't wait to get a full coat of Car Guys Liquid Wax and Hybrid waxes on the truck to really make it shine.

Definitely not looking forward to masking off the graphics myself.

Default #6 AVS Ventvisors

AVS Ventvisors AVS Ventvisors

I thought about doing in channel ventvisors, but I've had the original "stick on" ones on other vehicles in the past and never had a problem with them. And quite honestly, I think I like the looks of them better and they were always super easy to install. That wasn't quite the case this time. I don't know if the Towing Mirrors make it harder as opposed to the standard mirrors, but I struggled getting the front tabs in. The tabs always wanted to slip between the glass and the rubber seal, instead of between the rubber seal and the plastic mirror cap. So I had to improvise and found that using a door panel removal tool works quite well. I first used the removal tool to pry the plastic cap out and then started to slide the tab of the ventvisor down vertically. It got to a point where it wouldn't want to budge any more and if I kept pressing it would move sideways and pop out from behind the mirror

So once you get the tab started, then you remove the tool and put it in between the rubber seal and the plastic cap and effectively use it as a guide. Little bit of pressure on the ventvisor and it pops right in! Sorry for the crappy quality pic. I tried all sorts of different settings and my camera just didn't want to focus.

Definitely glad with my decision of the original stick on version.

Default #7 AVS Aeroskin - Paint To Match

AVS Aeroskin - Paint To Match AVS Aeroskin - Paint To Match

This was a spur of the moment purchase. I knew I wanted a hood protector, but when I saw these from AVS in classic black I liked the look. Then I found out they offered them in PTM. It was hard shelling out almost double for the PTM one, but the results speak for themselves. A lot of people on the forum were suggesting to make sure you have at least 1 other person, or 2 if possible, help you install it to get it straight. Well I was home alone and bored (impatient) so I decided to tackle it myself. I was disappointed that this didn't come with any install instructions or alcohol pads, but luckily I bought a crap ton of alcohol pads when I first started ordering stuff. So I popped the hood and cleaned the area thoroughly. Then I did a dry fit and realized all it will take is 2 clamps to get this install perfect. I actually think this can yield better results than the install videos I've seen. AND you can do it by yourself

1) Put the right clamp on first after lining up the hood protector, but don't clamp it down tight. Just snug.
2) For the left clamp, move the drivers side of the hood protector up or down until the hood protector corner matches up with the corner of the hood. Tighten down both clamps.
3) The hood protector is pretty flexible. Now you can go over to the driver's side, pull up the protector and start removing the adhesive strip backing that are directly located above the headlight. DO NOT remove the backing from the strips over the grill.
4) Line up the hood protector over the headlight and stick it down.
5) Remove the clamps. You can place them over the driver's side headlight if you want, but I just left them off.
6) Pull up the hood protector on the passengers side and remove all remaining adhesive backing. (See below picture)
7) Starting from the driver's side headlight, line up the bottom edge of the hood protector with the edge of the hood and slowly work your way over to the passenger's side.

I think it lines up pretty darn well!

I was a little worried about how the paint would match, but I think it's hard to tell a difference!

It's honestly a LOT less noticeable than I was expecting. I'm going to wait to see how long it take my wife to notice that I put it on. The longer it takes, the better.

Default #8 BlackVue DR900-S Dash Cam

BlackVue DR900S-2CH 4K UHD Dash Camera BlackVue DR900S-2CH 4K UHD Dash Camera

After lots of research on a dash camera, I ended up going big and getting a 2 channel (1 forward camera and 1 rear camera) 4K UHD. At almost $600, it definitely stung a little bit. But then after talking to my insurance company they will knock money off of my monthly rate for having this system. It's packed full of features, but I definitely need to figure out the calibrations. It gives off an audible beep when it detects an event (it thinks you've been in an accident or a close call) and when I went out on a quick test drive on these "wonderful" Michigan roads, I got about 7 even alerts in 4 miles If anyone has any questions about this camera or would like me to post some camera footage, let me know. I do love how discreet it is.

Running off of a power point for now. I might buy the expandable battery pack in the future.

Thanks, Flowpro. I appreciate it.

The weather is finally going to be cooling down starting today This is the hottest summer we've had in well over 100 years. So cool weather means I'll finally get up in the bed and install the bed rug. I was not going to be kneeling in that bed in 96 degrees.

After the bed rug, the Peragon bed cover goes on. Then it'll be a waiting game. Apparently I like to order things that are back ordered. But sadly I'm not going to be driving this truck much for the next few weeks. My wife has to go out of state for work for the next 4 weeks and it's 300 miles 1 way. Her Explorer Sport is a lease and she would be way over miles if she takes that. It'll be tough going to the explorer because I really have taken a strong liking to this truck
More so than any other truck I've owned. I find myself turning the radio off and rolling down the windows to listen to the Coyote howl.

Well I started my day by waking up early to go get coffee to prepare for a full day of working on the truck. Hop in, and it cranks over for a full 3+ seconds before it sputters and comes to life. Then the CEL comes on

Hopefully going to the dealer and getting a flash for the misfire TSB will solve it.

Default #9 Bedrug

6.5' Bedrug 6.5' Bedrug

3M Heavy Duty Hook & Loop 3M Heavy Duty Hook & Loop

Next on the list was the Bedrug Classic liner. It was definitely a little bit of a challenge if you're a bit OCD like I am, but I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I ended up buying a roll of 3M Heavy Duty Hook & Loop to use in additional places like near the tailgate etc. All in all it took about 3 hours. This is the first time I've use a Bedrug, but having the cushioned floor now is super nice.
