Hey I know this question was pointed towards the OP but I will give you my 2 cents When building my prerunner I found that I needed the body work done first. With out the body work my Long travel suspension would not have fit. Now that I am done (well almost done) with the body work and suspension I will be moving on to engine mods.

Trust me I know what you mean. But you dont have much of a choice, because the LT suspension will not fit with OEM fenders. Depending on the kit it may be possible to just pull your bedsides and trim the crap out of your front fenders.

Well I want to take the whole bed off and make a cage that the suspension and the bedsides bolt up to. And I am 2wd so I somewhat have more room in the front right?

*Quick note - I am not a mechanic I pay other people to do every thing for me so take what I say with a grain of salt.

For the bedsides you could do what RaceRedRunner did

"n all honest this is what I did and i think its smart. A auto wreakers wants $2400 for a used truck box around here so I looked around for a damaged box I found a box from a truck that only had 1500 miles on it and the house it was parked beside caught fire, poor truck :'( . So half the paint was burnt off the box but WHO CARES the box sides are getting ripped off ANYWAYS, i paid $600 bucks for it. Then I had all the time in the world to do the box sides while I drove my truck. Then after I swapped out truck boxes I put mine up for sale, even if I get $1500 who cares I just made money making my truck look better :-)" RaceRedRunner - https://www.f150forum.com/f34/post-p...2/#post3030007

Of course he did not cage his bed like you are planning. I have seen a prerunner some wear do a bolt in cage for the bed. It was prity sick. They built the cage above and below the bed. Then bolted the 2 together with the bed in the middle. That way the bed cage could be removed and then the bed, but still had all the benefits of a fully caged rear end.

I still think even with 2wd if you do a long travel suspension you are going to have issues with stock fenders.

I think It is best to just plan on doing body work first then suspension. Or even better both at the same time if you can swing it.
