Chris's FX4 - 2011 FX4 5.0L Build Thread
#41
Chris's FX4 - First let me say, awesome looking truck! Think your mods have all been beneficial, and completed tastefully. None of that over the top stuff that some people like to do.
Secondly, and reason for my post, is how do you like the 275/70-18 Duratracs? I see some posts you've stated you like them, especially for the winter. Asking as I will be replacing my 275/70-18 BFG TA KO's within the next couple months. The Duratracs were my 2nd choice when I purchased these BFG's back in 2010, but opted for the BFG's and have always been a huge disappointment to me in the snow/ice. How's the ride, tread life and performance been for you with the Duratracs? Know ride isn't going to be like a street tire, but just your thoughts.
Will be opting for the 295/65-18 or 275/70-18. The local shop believes the 295's should fit without rubbing, but have both in stock. So will test out the 295's first, and if there are rubbing issues, with be opting for the 275's.
Thanks!

Thanks MHC. I love my duratracs, especially in the winter. Road noise isn't bad for their tread pattern. They handle the rain really well too. They handle dirt/gravel roads great too during spring melt. I have 30k miles on mine and a little over 50% tread left. Ride isn't bad IMO. Its a little rougher since they are e rated but it's still nice to me.
Love them so much I just bought some in 315/70/17's.

You planning on installing the new set on Raptor rims? Or just some other aftermarket wheels?

Wish i went with the Duratracs instead of the ST-Maxx Tires for winter purposes. Im a die hard Cooper guy, as their Discoverer M&S is an awesome winter tire.
When we get new tires for the Jeep Wrangler they are going to be Duratracs.

Thanks guys and yes, I take the pics myself.
I currently have 3 Raptor wheels so if I can get one more at a good price, it will be those. Otherwise I might go with some Methods or Walker Evans street wheels.
