Thank you sir!
Love it. This is pretty darn close to what I envision. Do you happen to recall which fork mount your used? Do you have anything for holding the front wheel after removal?
Thanks guys!
Haha, doo eeeeeeet.
Thanks! I definitely didn't want the stickers. It seems to attract enough attention already. Plus, the sticker package on these things is like $2k!!
I don't know if anybody likes the price. I had a hard time with it, but justified it by convincing myself that it will hold value a bit better over time. We'll see, I suppose.

So my bike rack solution in my F250 was cheap and easy. The PO had put some bar back there I presume to hold motorcycles, but I repurposed it to hold my mtn bike. Just purchased a fork mount, and screwed it right in. Easy enough. I’m sure you could do something easy like that.
Thanks guys!

I was having a midlife crisis and wanted an upgrade. It just wasn't that much of a crisis. Yeah, I could certainly afford it. And then again I remembered I had just invested in another rental property where the down payment was equal to what the Raptor was listed at.
Anyway, enough rambling on my part. I do like the look of the new Raptors and am looking forward to your build.

I looked at a '14 Raptor when I was starting to look for a new truck. Would have been perfectly satisfied with a used truck if it met certain criteria. The Raptor came very close. And then, my *frugality* kicked in when I remembered that it comes with a 6.2L (measure mileage in GPM) and the tag on the truck was more than what I paid for my '16 XLT Sport.

Who's used this? I dabbled with my 16 lariat, but didn't really dig into what's possible. I might take a crack at it tomorrow. All I know for sure is that I'd like to disable that double honk when you get out of the running truck with the keys in your pocket. Any other suggestions? I have this OBDlink MX connector ( ) and it worked pretty well previously. Glad I remembered to grab it out of the OBD2 port when I sold the truck!

Tonneau Cover and Stubby Antenna
I went ahead and swapped over the tonneau cover, bed mat and antenna from my 16 to this truck. Obviously, all very easy. I haven't owned anything but a soft cover and would be interested in trying one of the newer more popular options, but I really like them. I do wish that the clamps used for the damn things were a bit more refined than sliced off chunks of an aluminum extrusion with a bolt, but it's a truck, so whatever. I'd dream up a nicer bed rail clamp (perhaps a low-profile option that's black anodized with nice hardware), but I don't imagine people would pay for it. Thoughts?
Overall, the cover is nice and tight. This is the Truxedo Lo-Pro. I had it on my other truck for about 18mos and nothing has deteriorated. On previous trucks, I think I've had cheaper models where the velcro and stuff had started getting worn and not keeping the cover tight. I HATE seeing the cover flap around in the rearview mirror, so this is important to me.
The side rails have small rubber bumpers at each end to help form a decent seal and with the tailgate closed it looks pretty well closed up. It's not waterproof, I know, but would keep items in the bed from getting soaked. Maybe I'll run it through the touchless car wash and see what happens. Would be a good test and give confidence that gear in the bed would stay reasonably dry on a roadtrip, even in heavy rain.
Same thing up front, pretty decent seal.
I also installed the stubby antenna to replace the factory antenna. It's much shorter in length, obviously, but hasn't seemed to affect radio signal clarity. We'll see how true that holds on trips up north and stuff. For $26 (or so, I don't recall), I certainly can't complain, but I'd love to see an antenna that mates perfectly to the base that's on the fender, for a more seamless look. The stock piece was pretty crude, so there's definitely no argument to be made that the Stubby Antenna is inferior as far as fit and quality go.
You can see what I mean here about the diameter and fit. I'd like to see the bottom of the antenna use that flat feature on the base of the mount. Would prevent water/ice from collecting in that groove. I can't imagine why that's a problem, but it's a reason for me to tinker.
Gonna see if I can find some time this afternoon to dig into the FORScan stuff. Thanks for the offer to help, @Summers22! I'm pretty confident that I'll figure it out just fine, maybe over-confident. Will make sure to back things up before changing values.
Happy Friday!

Didn't realize the Raptor has a different antenna mount than the standard F150. Either way, the Stubby is a nice & cheap aesthetic upgrade.
Having a Raptor, I'm sure there's a lot more you can do in Forscan than us lowly XLT drivers
