Default Brand's 2018 Platinum Build

I took delivery of my custom ordered 2018 F150 Platinum on October 6, 2018. Prior to taking delivery I had the dealer install paint to match door handles and mirror caps as well as the Limited grille. Then 18 hours later I dropped it off to get the paint corrected and Modesta BC-05 applied to the paint and CQuartz Forte applied to the glass at Vivė Auto Detailing & Finishing in Houston. While there they also installed SunTek CarbonXP window tint on the glass. 15% on the back doors and rear window, 25% on the front windows, and 35% on the moon roof. After I got it home I installed a BAKFlip MX4, Bedrug Liner, Builtright rear seat release, and a 15" antenna.

On Cyber Monday Stage3 was running a great deal on Stainless Works exhaust at 20% off so I placed the order for the Stainless Works Performance Connect Long Tube Headers and the Stainless Works Performance Connect Catback Exhaust. Stage3 was also running a 15% off deal on Whipple superchargers. Even though the 2018 Whipple hasn't been released I was able to preorder the 2018 Whipple Gen3 2.9L Supercharger under the discount. It should be released near the end of December. The exhaust arrived today but I am going to wait to install it until after the Whipple is installed.

Specs
  • 2018 F150 Platinum SCREW
  • 701A Equipment Group
  • White Platinum Color
  • 5.0 Engine
  • 3.73 Gears
  • 4x4 FX4
  • Moonroof
  • 36 Gallon Tank

I wanted to get a baseline prior to installing any performance modifications so I took it to one of the two dynos that are somewhat close to me. It was about 65° F outside and it pulled 338WHP at about 5700RPM.

Completed Modifications
Modifications waiting to install
Planned Modifications
  • 2"/4" drop
  • DUB 8-Ball S187 24" Wheels
  • Nitto NT420S 305/35R24 Tires
  • Trim the front air dam

When the weather lets up I will clean it up and post some pictures.

Healthy baseline! Will look forward to seeing the 'after' charts. Will you install the exhaust prior to the S/C or do it all in one shot?

(Thanks for your business, by the way!)

That baseline was also in 5th gear which is not 1:1. 7th gear is the 1:1 but we were hitting the speed limiter and backed it down to 5th gear. In 7th gear without the speed limiter it probably would squeeze out a bit more.

I am dying to install the exhaust since I already have it but I think it would be better if I install the Whipple first then install the exhaust after.

I’d be interested to see the difference the full exhaust makes on top of the blower. I’m torn of whether to do the same exhaust on mine.

Just bought the Escort MAX 360c radar detector with the coupon code ESGOLD to get the 2 year Extened Service Plan and 3 Year North American Database Subscription for free. Tried to purchase the BlendMount BMG-2000R but it is currently out of stock.

I kept kicking around the idea of the Escort MAX CI 360 radar detector but the $3000+ price was hard to get past.

Thinking about getting the headers ceramic coated prior to installing them. I haven't really had any experience with ceramic coating and don't know if the benefit will be worth the cost. I sent Jet-Hot an email asking for a quote.

Jet-Hot quoted out $375 to ceramic coat the long tube headers in black.
