Default 2013 Black Platinum

Traded in my 2014 XLT for a 2013 Platinum. Really like the body lines of the 09-14 F150's, but I mainly wanted to upgrade to all the extras that the Platinum has (leather, heated seats, 8" screen, remote start, sunroof, etc) and also wanted to go from the 5.0 to the Ecoboost. Plan is mainly the same as my old truck. I like my trucks all black with no chrome (I know it's been done to death, but I still like it). After I get all the exterior done, moving on to oil catch can, new exhaust, intake, get a tune, rear sway bar, and some suspension upgrades. The suspension stuff will probably come before the other upgrades. And lastely, I'd like to upgrade from Sync2 to Sync3 sometime in the future.

First thing I had done was have the dealer swap the tires that came on the Platinum for my Duratracs I had on my XLT.

It gets real messy here in Nebraska with all the snow and rain; plus we travel on gravel roads a lot to see family, so i picked up some rear wheel well liners. Just waiting for the mudflaps to come in before I install them both.

I'm here in MN with the same concerns on fender wells. What are your thoughts on how well a guy could get all the crap washed out from inside the fender wells? I've got a great heated pressure washer I use fairly regularly so I've never known for sure how much I'd benefit.

Looks good. What are your plans for the Platinum tailgate?

Been super busy with work and relandscaping my backyard (tons of grading and retaining wall rebuilds), that I've had hardly anytime for the truck. My old 2014 XLT had a Diamondback cover on the bed, which I got moved over many months ago.

I honestly can't say how much I love this cover. This is the SE version, not the HD, which means I can store 400 lbs on top of the cover vs the 1600 lbs of the HD version, which is good for what I need. I originally got this because I take 2-3 trips around the country a year (1,500+ mile each way trips) and our old bakbox would constantly leak. This think has been rock solid (survived 4+ inches of rain/flooding last year in Chattanooga, survived several tropical storms and a hurricane passthrough in Florida). Neve had this thing leak on me, and the option to thow things on top has been very useful when I need it (bonus, you can open the cab side, the hydralic keeps it upright, and I've had me, my wife and two kids laying against it looking up at the stars out in the middle of no where). The storage box is also from the same company. 10/10, can't recommend them enough. I will always buy their cover for any future truck I have.

I still haven't gotten around to putting the wheelliners on, but plan to in the next couple weeks.

Just picked up a new 3rd brake light, new black headlights to replace my chrome HID housing, and new side steps. I really dislike the automatic running boards. I know there's an option to turn them off and keep them always down, but I found some boards I had on my old 2014 XLT, that I gave away with the trade for my Platinum and I just decided to rebuy them. The boards are already in, but waiting for the headlights before I replace everything. I'll update this post as they get installed.

Eventually, I am going to rhino line front/rear bumper, my new running boards, rom the rocker line down around the entire truck, and the entire tailgate. Ideally, I would like to replace the Platinum tailgate with a regular F150 tailgate, so I don't have to worry about that plastic Platinum thing that spans the entire thing.
