I think that would look awesome. Go for it. You planning on doing it yourself?

Don't paint the entire mirror just the top skull cap the middle and the bottom, don't paint the arms.

That's how people paint the 08+ superduty mirrors and they look good.

Busy day at the station so I only had time to get the newly painted door handles on. The mirrors are likely a weekend project for me here. Oh well the handles turned out great though. Huge difference in appearance!

Also I have the textured handles up in the classifieds. Perfect for sanding and painting your own!

Door handles look awesome. Was it fairly easy to change them out?

For just painting the mirror caps would it be easier to pull the whole mirror off or tape and cover everything really well and paint in a good clean area?

It only takes about 3-5 minutes to remove the door panel so I will most likely take them out. Swapping handles is someone did on the silver truck at the beginning of the thread so it was easy this time. The hardest part was removing the keypad because, you have to get it out before you fully remove the handle. It snaps in place so getting the clips released and it out in such a small work area was a pain. The handles have to be rotated out in order to remove them from the lever that opens the door so looking and seeing which way to turn before pulling and yanking on it is important. With patience and looking to see how it's all connected it's not bad at all. They are only held in by 4 nuts, if you open the door you will see 2 black circles in the area of the handle that are covering 1 or 2 of them. My 04 had 2 but the 08 only had 1. Once you get that out take the 2 off that you access behind the door panel and pull it out from the hinge side of the handle and figure out which way to turn it. Its a pretty straight forward job this time it only took me an hour and a half for all 5 and if not for the keypad and a lost nut it would have taken about an hour.
