I plastidipped it to see if I liked it but pulled it off and did it with DupliColor perfect match and clear after a day. To plastidip it all I did was clean it really well and apply it in light coats. To paint it I had to pull it off and wet sand it, primer, paint and clear with about 4 coats paint and 4 coats clear.

Today however I get the final clear and cure on my smooth finish PTM door handles so I can get them installed tomorrow.

My textured stock handles will be for sale once I get them swapped in. So if you are looking to do this project keep an eye out in the next few days.

Ok so I would like some honest opinions. I am going to have my door panels off to install the door handles and was contemplating painting the entire mirror housing. I've seen a few 250s on up with this done and wondered what your thoughts were on doing mine.

I think it will look good Boomer. Where did you get your handles from?

About 3 different eBay sellers. It took about a week to piece the set together and it was a little over $115 for all 5 when it was all said and done.

Sorry for all the questions Boomer. But when you painted your shifter trim how did you tape off the gear selection and not mess up the paint when pulling it off?

I just ran a strip of painters tape down it an just used a razorblade to cut around it. There is a slight gap that runs around it so you can push it in and cut around it. Once you get the paint and clear down pull it up before the clear dries.
