Black Thunder's Build Thread
yup, at night there is no issue at all. There transparent so the light still shines through really good. I lent the spray to my friend & did 5 coats on his Subaru which was extremely dark. The light still shined through, not as good though and your more likely to get attention from the cops at night with it that dark. I recently re-sprayed mine with an extra coat because it seemed like they faded too. It has been about 2 years in Canadian winter so i still think its an awesome product and worth it. Still the same $10 can to, never had to buy a new one, even after my friend used 5 coats on his car.
Some pictures of once the grille was on and the truck was washed. Let it be known that during the day in the sunlight my taillights appear lighter(more red) but at night or when its dark/cloudy out they appear a lot darker. So consider that when your VHT Night-shading your lights
Next i installed a 7" Pioneer AVH-P4400. Rigged it up to play DVD's while i drive. Don't worry i dont watch movies while i drive, i didn't set that feature up for myself. I had to cut a piece off the screen surround to make it fit because i think they gave me the wrong plastic surround piece, as it was to small. Didnt want to go through the hassle of getting another plastic surround sent, especially since i had the stereo ready to install. I don't notice it and it doesn't bother me so i have left it that way.
The little black thing on the dash if anyone is wondering is the microphone for when someone calls me. Also, yes that means i was running my sound system on my stock head unit before. It worked fine until I could afford the screen. The only thing with the stock head unit is you cant shut the amp off & you cant adjust the subwoofer unless you do it on the amp itself.

Next to my buddies Flareside.
Also another picture when I parked in front of my stock twin. Pretty cool to see the difference with what my truck looked like stock compared to what it was.

Next thing i did was plasti-dipped my running boards all black. I taped off the black plastic of my running board that way every time i stepped on it, it wouldn't start peeling everything off. They have lasted for almost a year but this winter gave them a good beating & one of them is peeling so I will have to redo it this summer with extra coats. I used about 4 thin coats on the running boards.
Before & After pictures & what the truck looks like without the running boards.

Next i did some small upgrades. Tinted my fog lights & off-road lights with some VHT Nightshades. Just sprayed over them a couple times with very thin light coats. It almost gave them more of a teal look but i like it better than the bright clear look it had, & doesn't affect the light output.
Also added an autobots transformer emblem in the space provided on my Saleen Grille.

next i installed a ready lift 3" block to replace the stock 2" block. I cant find the pictures of during the install & before & after to compare. If i find them i will add them in later.
Reason i went with a block kit is that when i have my ATV in the back it made the truck seem like it was squatting really bad due to the level up front. Now with my ATV in the back it sits about exactly level and without it the back sits a little higher but its nothing that's extremely noticeable.

Found a sick deal on some 20" XD Rockstars with Trail Grappler tires down in the states. Went down picked them up, brought them back home shined them up & installed them.
