While you're down in that area I recommend flipping your spare tire to valve stem down so you have access to check tire pressure periodically. Takes 5 minutes and worth it to me. Better safe than sorry. What good is a flat spare?

The axle looks much better. It was looking pretty bad to start with.

True story... Ironically I knocked most of the rust off and found the coating to be for the most part undisturbed underneath. So it seems to me that the coating actually promotes it.

Valve stem idea is a good one... but its gonna have to wait for another day... Its gonna be a mad dash peeling all the tape and getting the wheels back on... gotta be at work at 9am lol

So I had to run up to Hopedale, MA a few weeks ago for some business. Long story short I put about 300 miles on the truck that day between running there and back, then up to Chelmsford and back to various warehouses. The truck was filthy afterwards, the semis make some pretty bad ruts when they get up in there but i took it slow and just kept moving no sense in making them worse. Here's some pics after I got home.

So I got a $75 gift certificate to Amazon over the holidays and I decided I'm gonna start swapping halogens out for LEDs.

I've never really used LEDs for anything automotive related before... My last car was a Sh*tbox... Anyhow I've listed some of the LEDs I got picked out with the links below. PLEASE tell me if I'm buying junk... I'd rather spend the money once than learn a tough lesson and have to buy twice.

Here's what ive got picked out so far....

I don't have any experience with the JDM ASTAR brand, I know several guys on here have used their switchbacks and seem to be happy with them. I can tell you this....leds really class up the look of the truck so I say go ahead.

thanks man, I really just want to get the small lights done at this point. Clean it up a little bit, I'm saving for coil overs right now, but I can't get those on amazon so I figured I'd get some lights.

Okay, so quick update.... Half the LEDs are going back to Amazon... The 42mm festoons they sent me were more like 37mm so they didn't fit. The tag lights i chose were about 2mm too long for the housing, so I've got some shorter ones on the way. I haven't installed the lights in the third brakelight mainly due to laziness and the fact that its been bitter cold with the exception of the past two days... I did however install the reverse lights, and man they are night and day! I will take pics when I get them all installed.

Thanks for the update. I have been looking at those exact reverse lights but was wondering if they were worth the money. I will be ordering mine shortly.

Okay, so I'm back this time with pics! no night shot yet but im sure i wont be disappointed. I got the festoons in the mail today, and it was finally warm enough to get the third brake light cover off without worrying about breaking it! Tag lights are still enroute.
