Stopped by the local salvage yard and found a good looking Expedition center console. After a good cleaning and paint it has been installed. I'm going to have the console lid wrapped in leather. The vinyl is temporary...

The grill shroud was looking pretty rough. I based it with Rustoleum white and then hit it with Oxford white. It matched pretty well. I also sprayed the grill insert with Dupli Color black bed-liner.

My wipers were discolored and the cowl was fading. I sprayed them with Dupli Color black bed-liner.

It was time for an alternator change. 17 years of grime caught up with the original. She fires right up with no sluggish hesitation now.

Since I had to remove a portion of the air intake while replacing the alternator, I decided to do the Gotts mod as well. I used a 3.5" piece of 3" PVC. I used the bench grinder to bevel the edge at the fender. The exterior piece seen in the photo is a 3" flexible PVC with clamps. All fit perfectly and there is a bit of an increase in response time that I noticed.

Finally pulled the temporary vinyl off the console lid. Replaced it with some black leather. There was no padding so I used the existing tan that was already on there to act as a bit of padding. Turned out well.

Dropped in the new radiator today. The old one had a leak on the right side, looking at the picture. The damn plug snapped off while spinning it out so I had to disconnect the hoses while full. There's more coolant in the driveway than in the bucket. The bottom hose was tough to get at so I pulled the bumper since I plan on color matching over the chrome. Made getting to the hose easier.

Installed some Hella 500FF fog lights behind my grill this weekend. Took some pictures as I was doing it.

I cut out the front area of the Expedition console to put my switch panel.

There was an existing hole inside the center console. I bought a couple 12V USB ports a few months ago. I placed one inside the console.

The other I placed in the back portion of the console that had an existing, old style 12V port. Unfortunately, it wasn't exactly centered so I had to deal with what I was dealt.

I resprayed the entire piece before I installed the switches, volt meter and USB port. The panel looks as if it was originally placed there. Came out really well.

I spliced from the cigarette lighter for the (3) USB ports that I installed. Everything from under the hood runs from the passenger side kick plate, under the dash and into the center console. All connectors are butt spliced with heat shrink.

This is the finished product of the plate once it was wired.

Each light is 9" off center and 1.5" from the back edge of the horizontal brace.

Final product with the lights on. They haven't been aligned yet.

Lights off...
