Perhaps. I had advance trac off and all that. I just think it's part of the stock tune (torque management). My quickest 60ft was leaving off idle.

This is somewhat surprising, but it is crazy what the stock truck will do to get you into 6th gear ASAP.

The old 'soak 'em in water' trick worked on the old school stuff, but I always ended up using the titanium or ceramic stuff. nitrile gloves...throw away the clothes after, STILL got fiberglass on me. Doing that sucks so much.........

but it makes all the difference in the world. probably got you a couple hundred rpm faster spool and the cooler engine bay temps. As a habit I always used a really high temp paint underneath the wrap too, and tried to cure it. Probably didn't do anything, but hey.
