Kind of like BGG does, if you see a design flaw in a normally good product, re-engineer it. I do it all the time

I should have said, my friend, installer, audio shop owner did the actual install. He moved here from Vegas to open his own shop. He had been doing custom installs for the Limo company's for 15 years.

I don't see the ga. listed on the wires I can see but it is hefty. Guessing I'd say an 8 or 10 ga. I'll ask him.

I was going to suggest a small fan or two as mentioned above.

The correct minimum size wire for ground and power for the mono amp is 4ga (I am using 0ga with a reducer input connector) and 0ga for the 4 channel amp in my pics. If the wire is undersized you wont reach advertised power as the amp is being starved of the full amount of power it needs. I surely hope your power and ground are larger than 8 or 10ga....
I've used Zapco amps in the past and never had one shut off due to thermal protect though.

I was gonna joke with you guys and say these amps need 1/0 copper stranded, but, dang. 4AWG is pretty beefy.

Lol...yeah I know
but this 4 channel amp literally has 0ga power/ground inputs. Was a lil upset the mono amp didnt, thus had to use a 0ga - 4ga reducer input terminal

The hook up from the battery is the size of my little finger... I was looking at the wires at the amps themselves. I know he's slammed when he doesn't call me back right way...

So which amp goes into thermal protect? Something doesnt add up. What you are describing wire size wise sounds like 4ga...BUT hopefully it's not 1 4ga wire from the battery to a distribution block and then 4ga to each amp. If it is....that would explain why the amps are going into thermal protect.... they would not be supplied with correct amperage. Can you share a pic of the amps and the wiring?

What are you talking about? I didnt say anything about passive or active that would give the assumption I was going one way over the other...
