Installing my halogen to oem headlight harness and I decided to clean up all of the connectors on the truck side. Rather than a direct PnP harness i wanted a lil cleaner install. The headlight harness on the truck side is a 4 position plug... I decided to use a 6 position connector both in my harness and on the truck side. Either the 4 pos connector, it is populated:
high beam
low beam
ground
ground

so I cut off the turn/park connector, and using the 6 pos connector it is not only 1 plug, but its oem quality, sealed from moisture, and a single plug

populated:
high beam
low beam
ground
ground (didnt need this ground)
turn
park

the last small connector I left as I have plans for it on each side that honestly worked out perfectly! I know it may be silly but I love doing this kind of wiring.

Boosted First i would like to say the work you have done on your truck is stellar!
I got to quit following this post you keep giving me ideas to mod my truck.
That being said the power tilt and extend steering column I may want to add to my
truck, other than the factory parts any wiring need to be done? Looks like the new
power column needs two power plugs for the motors any insite on this.

Thanks starliner. Appreciate that. Well, the parts are needed and there is also wiring that will be needed for the motors on the steering column....however, if you are only interested in the power telescoping etc. im not sure how this would work. I say this because I am also doing intelligent access and push button start...so going all the way. Our trucks still have the key ignition switch. This new power steering column does'nt have provisions to still be able to utilize this. Honestly I am not sure. I am sure that there re BCM changes that I will need to make( the as built data). Also in my research, there are (2) versions of the power steering column...one with a steering lock, and one without. Its an electronic steering lock iirc that is enabled when you shut the truck off.... I went with the one without this feature as it is less to deal with. (as if this matters at this point lol) As I get this going, I will document all of my wire connections and harnesses I may need to make. In my mind its pretty straight forward, but is dependent upon also doing the push button start.I hope I am wrong as others, I know, would like to also upgrade to this steering column.
