Very nice! My wife ended up buying me some smoked spec-ds that look similar to this for my birthday, so if those don't work out, I will definitely be swapping them for these!

Onto my recent change! It's a small one, but definitely improves the looks, IMO.

Sorry for the low quality pic, but you get the gist! Next up the next couple of days is removing the F150 on the tailgate, so that there is no more chrome on the back, and the guy who custom painted the Ford emblem said he is willing to do the F150 side badges for me in the same gloss and flat black combo as the Ford logo!

Then onto the painting of the wheels in a similar color combo and the headlights and LED bulbs!

That looks great! I plan on debadging my tailgate this weekend as well.

It's been raining like crazy here since I took the F150 off the tailgate, but was able to get a quick photo during one of the breaks in the rain. I really like how this looks without the chrome! Can't wait to get a little extra money so I can get the side badges painted like the Ford logo!

It's been a while since I've been able to do anything with this, mainly since I don't have the money at the moment to get the LED lamps for the smoked headlights I have sitting in the house. The fellow that painted the Ford oval for the back never did get back to me on the fender name plates, so I just ordered the red and black Ford issued ones. These will be in today, and I should have some time over the next couple of days to get them installed. These are the ones I'm talking about:

PM sent.

I got these in yesterday, and will (hopefully) install them tonight if I have time. I really like the looks of them in person, and I think they'll look really good installed. Will update with a pic when I get a chance to put them on!

I got them installed. If you watch some of the videos about how to do this, don't believe them when they say going up underneath the wheel well to get to them is "easy". One of the screws is mostly covered and a PITA to remove, and then the panel you need to lift up to get your arm up behind the fender is too rigid to just be "lifted" up out of the way. So, I went the brute force method and worked some really strong twine back behind the badge and pulled/ripped it from the fender. Had to to it a couple times to get all of it to come off, and had to be really careful so I could remove one clip from each fender that was still stuck in the hole. Ended up also having a finger be in the wrong spot and split a finger nail about a quarter of the way up through the skin area which bled a bit, which made this whole process a bit longer than it should have been. But, it's not a project for me if I'm not bleeding somewhere, so it's par for the course.

Anyhow, I love how it makes the badges more subtle (the Chrome was WAY too gaudy for my tastes) and it pops just enough to stand out. I really like how it looks

They look great!

I am looking to do a similar swap to mine but I can find what I'm looking for. Ideally I would like to do your set up but swapping the red background for chrome.

I've got the XTR package on my truck, not looking to completely de-chrome the truck, more along the lines of decrease the chrome. Regardless of when I get around to it my 2017 is still a lot more conservative on the chrome front than my 2011 was.

My guess is that you'd probably have to get someone to custom paint one, since that's not a standard paint scheme directly from Ford. I would say that your best bet would be to get brand new ones and then take them in and have them painted, then install them.
