When I had the hood open a few days ago, I noticed that my hot coolant level was right at the MIN mark. Cold, it was maybe 1/4” below the MIN mark. Today, I added a quart plus of pre-diluted Peak coolant to bring it right up below the MAX mark. As far as I know, the coolant reservoir hasn’t been opened up since its first fill at the factory. I checked the oil level, and it’s a bit short of halfway between min & max on the dipstick... maybe 3/8ths of the way up the hashed area.

Just for kicks, I decided to update my truck to the official version of Sync 3 v3.0. I downloaded the update from the Ford website and loaded it in the truck. The old build was v3.0 17194_PRODUCT. The new build is v3.0 18093_PRODUCT. I’m still unable to confirm the update with Ford, however. I called their horrible customer support line this morning and was advised that there’s a “known issue” preventing people from confirming either through the website or directly from the truck via WiFi. I think that will prevent me from getting notifications of Sync updates, until I’m able to confirm.

Can you tell any difference in the two builds?

None that I’ve noticed in the past day. I just wanted to get on an official version so that I’d get update notifications from Ford, but I guess that’s not happening regardless.

Ok...I loaded the official 3.0 when it first came out, and have seen there is another upgrade that is still 3.0 (not sure of version# though), so I was wondering if I should load it.If it's a different version from the one you loaded I'll let you know this afternoon.

The original V3.0 file I downloaded was JR3T-14G381-AL & the new file that Ford has is JR3T-14G381-AM, So if you Loaded the "AM" version you do have the latest release

That reminded me to check mine today. Exactly the same, at about 5/16s or 3/8s up the hashed section. I didn’t actually get to my first oil change in the 2017, so I have no reference to go off of. The 5.0 does call for 8.8qt though, which is quite a bit of oil - more than the segment’s other V8s, and even the 6.2 Boss and L86.

Don’t tease the XBs without posting pictures! Lol

I installed a replacement driver-side Morimoto XB LED headlight today. The one I replaced had a broken adjuster. I pulled the front wheel well liners to do the adjustments on both sides. I had some issues adjusting that I may document elsewhere. Here are some installed photos, along with the low-beam and high-beam results:

Passenger side, off

Driver side, on

Low beams @ 25 ft

High beams @ 25 ft

Does it seam that the passenger side beam slightly rises going right? This is the third case on the forum (including mine) that shows such pattern.
