I installed a Thule 500XT rack today for bikes & other things. As bonus, if I lower them all the way, they serve to lock the Decked ammo can lids! I also received my 2x4 E-track adapters, but I don't have any immediate plans for them.

I'm very, very happy with this.

Front: 40-3/16"

Rear: 40-1/4"

I haven't put on the center caps yet. I'm going to spray the polished metal on the caps with Magnetic. I placed the order for paint this morning for the grille, door handles, mirror caps, fender badges, and tailgate applique.

This is coming together nicely. I think I'd like to add a little rake, but I'm done with big purchases for a while. Maybe later in the year I'll add rear shocks, a 2" AAL, and remove the rear block. That should give me close to 3/4" rake.
I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the same wheel/tire setup as you. Have you had any issues with rubbing anywhere- especially off road? Did you make any modifications to your crash bars or fender liners? From the sounds of it, we'll be using our trucks in the same way with light off-road and sand. Any words of advice before I buy the 305/65/18 bfgs? Thanks so much!

No rubbing, absolutely no modifications. I run them at 45 psi. Check my post earlier in this thread for adjustments to FORScan to correct the speedometer and nominal tire pressure.

Based on all of your input, I went with the same wheel and tire combo and am also very happy with it! I only have a .5" lift in the front in these pictures, but I thought I'd share them in case anybody else is as inspired by your truck as I was. Thanks again!

I'm sort of wishing I had kept my Platinum grille and painted it instead of selling it off--especially since the transaction was with a lurker of this forum and it went completely pear-shaped. That aside, I may start looking around for one, or something else. I really do like the grille LEDs in the Paramount grille, though. I wish I were better at plastic/bondo work - I'd probably cut the top bar with the LEDs from the Paramount grille and blend it into the top of a Platinum (or even XLT Sport) grille.

As soon as I get my grille back from the paintshop, I'll write up a review of my efforts, but here's a preview of what I did with the paramount style grille with one bar in the middle:

Last Friday, I got into my truck and found a crack going from the top edge of my windshield down and then horizontal into the driver's side view. Tuesday, I had Safelite come and replace the windshield. In the process, the guy sliced a big chunk out of the passenger-side A-pillar trim, inside, where the handle is. They're going to order a replacement piece.

The tech also said he suspected the crack came from a chip that looks like it was made by something smooth, more like a BB than a rock. And I've been having problems with the neighbor's kid shooting arrows and, most recently, an airgun into my yard, so that's one more thing I need to keep an eye on.

This is a great thread. Thanks for posting. I really like the thoughtfulness of your posts and work.

It's a little embarrassing, but I had no idea there was so much customization going on with these trucks before I purchased. I was looking at Platinum; but didn't like the chrome. So, I ended up with a Lariat 502A Fx4 sport package.

After seeing all the work on PTM, I feel like I saved myself some effort. Still missing an option or two .

Anyway - thanks, I enjoyed the read.
