Your project is very impressive! I work a couple blocks from the where F150's & Raptors are turned into Shelby's so seeing some of the parts from a Shelby used on your project perked up my interest. Nice work! Every now and then I go by the plant just to see what they are building. One day last summer there were a couple of Shelby Raptors awaiting shipment parked near the fence, I snapped off a shot of them. It's not unusual to see a carrier full of Raptor drive past my work.

How did you treat the holes you cut in for the vents? What about the tailgate where you ground off paint?

In MN... that would either corrode or rust.

Yep Tuscany in the RV capital of the world Elkhart Indiana.....I have a new RCSB XLT ordered, I want to get rid of the chrome bumpers and grill on day one. I've already stopped and talked to them about picking up some take off parts. The receptionist thought she could make it happen. I'm still 6-8 weeks from getting my truck so I'll check back with them in a few weeks. I did a photo shopping on what I want' it to look like using mostly OE parts, inspired by your thread. I don't think I want to go as far as you with the hood, the fender louvers would look pretty nice. I'll start a new thread here when I get closer.

Etching primer for the vents.
Adhesion glue for the tailgate

Not worried about corrosion since I don’t keep vehicles long.

Lots of effort put into your truck. I have a 2018 Limited and you did a great job of replicating it but spicing it up. With that, I thought I'd love the hood and side vents but they don't do anything for me unfortunately........not that it looks bad, it looks great, I just don't think it would work for my personal taste and styling. I wonder what other options are out there for hood replacements and side vents.

Question, what did it set you back to transform yours into a 2018 appearance package.

I am curious how much functional fender vents help or is it more of an ascetic thing I think part of the reason I don't care for fender vents is that there are a good number of vehicles around here that have anywhere from 1 - 3 fender vents stuck on making their car look like crap. I don't understand why someone would want to stick nonfunctional fender vents on your car.

Its an aesthetic thing, but for me the fender vents are essentially a must because I like clean shaven debadged vehicles. For God knows what reason Ford made the side emblems drilled so removing them leaves holes... a good way to turn that into a positive is by installing the vents.

I should mention... if you have a heavily modified TT or 5.0 then the fender vents will serve a purpose to get rid of more heat but day to day drivers aren't going to see a difference.

Mike actually cut the fenders and I believe that theses vents are functional.
