I also came from a Tacoma, I had a 13 TRD offroad that I had built up with an old man emu lift, 33 duratracs, sliders, wheel spacers, and a shell among other things. Just bought a 13 raptor with 29K miles on it and am beginning to turn it into a similar rig. so much nicer to have all of this room than the Tacoma!
Awesome! I am very curious to see what you do to your Raptor. I too have recently bought a '13 Raptor.

Subscribed to this thread, would love to do some of the mods myself here down the road.

Does anyone know of a past thread for aftermarket and DIY bed length storage systems?

The shell was his problem lol, I stand on my bed rails.
Sorry I know this was a while ago. Just curious how tall these guys are that are having trouble with the rooftop-tents. I want a topper shell with the rack to hold a tent. I'm 6 foot 3 and I have the retractable bed steps. I'm thinking I won't have as much of an issue but who knows.

Whoa! Idk what happened but I totally let this die. To be fair, I really haven't done anything of interest to the truck but I did go to Colorado back in June, been camping a few times, and I'm heading north to Wisconsin to run part of the **** later this month. Hope to have some small cosmetic and storage related projects done over the next few weeks but I've put the truck build on hiatus for a bit while I focus my budget in other areas. Just enjoying the truck as is for now.

Also, picked up this 1995 Explorer with a buddy in the mean time. The plan is to run a Gambler 500 next year. Bought some cheap 31s and the plan is to chop the roof behind the rear door. Also, it needs brakes BAD!!!

I tried but the 1.5" were too short to clear my studs. 1.5" is already at the limit of my comfort zone so I wasn't going thicker and I didn't want shorter studs. I sent them back.

Awesome build! I've been toying with an overland build for my F150 for about a year now. I live on the east coast, so the trails tend to be tight, but I figure it'd be great out west. What are your thoughts on using a rig that big now that you've had some time with it?My other option would be to build my 4dr wrangler. While its more capable, it isn't nearly as comfortable to live out of. I have a SCAB 5.0 6.5' 4x4 with the e lock 3.73 and 33x12s. Does it do well in the canyons and on the rocky trails?Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Default Love this thread!

I have been getting into overlanding as well. I have a 2011 SCREW with 6" Lift, a 12,500lb winch and a few other mods. Last year we rode the Trans Wisconsin Trail we did 1200 miles with 600 of it off pavement! In only 48 hours time. Had an absolute blast.

Overland FX4, I see you are in Indiana, I am in Chicagoland. IM me the next time you plan to do the ****, I would love to join. Here is my rig:
