Thanks for the feedback gents.

The noise does seem to go when revs increase but always a little harder to hear.

I will give the pulley idea a go to see. There is a little play in them too I noticed when I pulled belt off.

Thanks to everyone who's contributed to this great thread. After all the feedback, I've decided to pull the trigger on a Whipple SC w. Optional Fan kit for my 2016 F150 V8. Whipples' price via their website is $7,795.00.

Anyone know which forum vendors/sponsors or alternate sell these kits discounted?

thx

Whipple will be about the cheapest you will get the kit..... Besides, if there is a warranty issue in the future you get to go directly through Whipple rather than the shop you purchased it from.

I'm in the middle of my install now and have run into a (very) small issue - it seems the factory bolts that hold the the hexagon couplers for the heat exchanger brackets are too long - which means the new bolts bottom out before they tighten on the bracket.

Did anyone else run into this issue?

That vaguely rings a bell. I can't remember if I cut the bolts off or just had the spacers and bolts arranged wrong.

I bought some new bolts (that will be here tuesday) as I thought all of the factory bolts were the same length - otherwise if they were different lengths, that would solve the problem.

Looking forward to tearing into the motor (of a truck with 2K on it!)

The hexagon spacers are a different length and you probably have them backwards. I had the same issue with mine but ended up swapping the spacers around and all was good.

Not it sure I follow - if the factory bolts are all the same length, wouldn't every bolt have this issue? The problem is the bolt is bottoming out on the other bolt. I would think that in any configuration this would be an issue??

No it is not an issue, you are supposed to use the bolts that are provided with the kit and not the factory bumper bolts. I remember this issue well, had to scratch my head a bit too. Good luck, you'll figure it out.
