2015 F150 Lariat SuperCrew FX4
Today did a few things
Added rear inner wheel well liners
Before
After
I also had an OEM plastic drop in bed liner.
....why? well.
1) Aluminum bed right? Might as well add a little impact resistance as I throw a shovel in the bed or a pick axe.
2) I like them, easy to clean and they make the bed look new for a looong time versus fade and scratch over the years
3) Half the price
4) I hate the idea of sanding off the new bed paint to add Line-X type stuff, if the bed was already scratch to heck and back, then might be the way to go.
Before
After (yes I dried off the bed well before installing)
The 3 inch rubber rounds in each corner come with it, they allow access to the lower tie downs
There is a small round that covers/protects the rear bed light switch (I'll probably always use the button from the cab)
The 4 side tie-downs..you need to use the keys to unlock and remove them, then drop in the liner, then reattach them. There is a small chance a good rain at the right angle could get a little water in there at those locations, but it would be so slight, that it would be no more than a few drops that would not be problematic in terms of under liner rust hazards (If there was, I wouldn't do it, nor would Ford license the product IMO).
The plastic tailgate part you remove the factory 8 screws and replace them with the provided 8 screws that have small spacers and wider washer (plus they are black to match the panel.
Turned out great, just like my last one in my prior 2004 Ford Ranger FX4.
Next plans.
Fuzzy Dice
Trying to fit a 35" spare in the stock location.
