The engine works on it's own ECU and I was able to correlate the two so they don't fight each other.

I'll try to edit the pics and post the video as I get time but I wanted to upload most of the pics.
Ah, that’s awesome! For video I haven’t really seen anyone do anything other than YouTube links or attachments.

Well I'll be damned....
Nice job. What horsepower and torque does that engine put out? How's the drivability?

Love to be there when you're buying an airfilter and the parts counter guy asks "what engine?".

Ok well lets try this?

I get a a lot of comments at the diesel pump. I've had a few f150 owners flag me down because it clearly sounds like a diesel... and not the 5.4 "sounding" like a diesel.

As far as power goes, I intend to dyno it at some point but power wasn't my concern. I will say that it pulls as hard or harder than the 5.4 did but the 5.4 was tired. My best guess based on info I've gleaned from the Super Turbo Diesel site...around 250HP - 330 Lb ft.?

I was getting 11-13 MPG with the 5.4 around town, which is 80% of my driving. I'm getting just about 20MPG about around town now. I was getting about 8MPG towing then- about 15 MPGG towing now. It's so much nicer to drive an no more strange noises or embarassing stalling at stop lights .

I was just trying to gauge drivability/performance. Not so much for the hotrod factor, but just for the real world use. We’ve all seen a few projects where the “juice wasn’t worth the squeeze”, but this one is impressive, in terms of overall objective. A very innovative project here... love to see some driving videos.

So you pulled out an engine that rattled and installed an engine that rattles?? HA! --
I'm yankin' yer chain. My hat is off to you and your ingenuity. That's too cool for school. I'm impressed !!

Hey nice build! can you tell me how did you manage to get the parts for the engine to match the transmission?
I'm projecting doing the same project too..where can I get all the part to adapt the transmission to the OM606? and
what transmission are you using?

I made the adapter myself. I'm an engineer and I have a machine shop. I'm still using the OEM 4r75e transmission.

Great. It would be very nice if you share the parts design with me so that I can replicate the same on a machine shop out here.
