the ac may do best with a Freon swap at a local shop. i think it cost about $80. those lil cans are duct tape to a sinking ship. lol.
I've been doing the Febreeze trick for the past few weeks, but it just smells like Febreeze and cigarettes! That, and now there's occasionally a burst of freon scent, which leads me to believe I've got a leak.
I only used the recharge can to prep for the Mojave desert heat, but then I didn't even go!

If you're having to add freon, you've got a leak.

Maybe try leaving it to "bake" with baking soda over all the seats, carpet, and other upholstered surfaces for a few days? Then vacuum, and get everything shampooed. Might help.

If you want to get rid of the cigarette smoke get an ozone generator. They'll get the rankest stinks out of just about anything. There are plenty of guides on how to use them online, but the gist of it is you'll put it in the truck for a few hours, open the truck up for a few hours and Lear it air out, and you'll have a truck that smells like, well, nothing.

got a portable carpet cleaner? if so fill the tank with hot water and a 1 load fill of tide liquid laundry soap. deep clean the whole interior. refill the tank as needed in the same way. get the headliner too. literally everything that is fabric. how do i know this works? i smoked in my 05 for 8 years. never had the linger smoke smell and the guy that bought it asked if i ever smoked in the truck. i told him yes. but i clean it with tide once a year or so lol. i had just cleaned it about a week before i sold it. i was still smoking for the most part so he asked lol. tide also works well on carpets too.

Yeah, I figured.

Thank you sir, I'm going to try this next.
Thanks for all the other cleaning tips guys. I've tried all the cleaning tricks in the book, except for the ozone generator, and shampooing the headliner, so I'm going to try those both this weekend.
