1995 F-150 Prerunner

Threw the towel in on the Bronco I was building due to electrical gremlins and speed density issues and ended up selling the cab and frame to a buddy. I was in Japan for work at the time with nothing much to do at night other than ponder what I was going to do next for a build. My buddy ended up sending me a link for this thing and after thinking about it over and over again, we ended up driving about 3 hours from home the day after I got home to go pick it up.

The truck was actually a little cleaner than I thought it would be. AC blows as cold as a new car, even still passed smog. Usual Ford slop in the steering wheel and the headliner was blown out. I talked the guy down to $1650 from $2200 because I was the only one who called in two months that actually bothered to show up and look at it in person, and I drove it home.

The OEM seats were not in the best shape so i swapped them out for these Corbeaus I had lying around

The truck didnt stay stock for long. Initially the whole reason I bought this truck is because I wanted something to drive to the Baja 1000, I was tired of riding shotgun on every desert trip while my rig sat in the driveway broken. I had a little under 3 weeks to get the truck put together and ready to go.

I already had everything laying around to put together a pretty solid TTB truck, and I plan on converting it to 4x4 anyways after desert season is over this year.

took it out for a little shakedown

S00TLYFE 12-22-2017 12:58 PM

At this point I was waiting on Deaver to go through my rear springs with about a week to go before the Baja 1000, and I wasnt sure theyd be ready in time, sure enough, they finished them the Friday before and I went to pick them up (3 days to go before leaving for Mexico) in the mean time I took the truck out for a little shakedown to see how it would do on stock leaf springs and stock gearing

Two days to go before Baja? Better just tear the whole truck back apart. I Couldn't leave well enough alone with Coilovers and Bypasses sitting in my garage. Thankfully with the help of some buddies, the truck went into my friends shop on monotube shocks, coil springs, stock gearing, and stock leafs in the rear. 10 hours later it left with coilovers, short body bypasses in the rear, a Deaver leaf pack, and 4.56 gears with a detroit locker.
