Default '17 Lightning Blue--Platinum Build

Thought I'd show my build up of a Lightning Blue Lariat 502A into a more Platinum look.

For those that don't know you can't get a Lariat Lighting Blue with chrome or in a Platinum. So I thought I'd see how I like it.

I much preferred Blue Flame but couldn't find a truck that matched my build list and then found this dealer ordered Lightning Blue. Blue Flame on cloudy days and in the sun looks better. A much deeper blue. This truck needs the paint buffed to get rid of orange peel.

Upgrades I'd still like to do are tint the front windows. Line-X. Add the platinum chrome bumper and paint the end caps Lightning Blue. That should make the front end flow better. And possibly change to chrome door handles.

Stock

4" BDS Lift. 1.5" Wheel Spacer. BFG KO2 285/65-20R. Platinum Wheels. Power Running Boards. Weathertech Mud Flaps.

Added Platinum Front Grill. Chrome weatherstripping on windows.

Trying out Chrome mirror caps. Undecided. Also removed FX4 Sticker and Dealer stickers.

Nice, how does the truck feel running the bigger tires, did it hurt your mpg's much? Does your truck still have a slight rake to it with the lift?

What did you do with your Take-Off 20's? I just found a set on eBay but I would''ve bought off you if you're selling!

Truck rides firmer due to the BFG's. I think the back end performs better with the Fox 2.0 shocks than with the stock tires/height/shocks. Just a slight road noise over the stock tires. But not by much. Truck still has a rake. If you wanted it level don't order the standard block in the lift, but one size smaller. I lost 2 mpg's so far on average driving. Was getting 17mpg stock, now 15mpg. That's with short country driving, idling and driving it like a dick.

I don't plan on the platinum tailgate. Just the front chrome bumper with painted end caps.

Still have all the factory parts. I'm in Indiana. Will probly put them up on the classifieds here.

Love the blue! And looks nice with the lighter accents you've added.

Did your truck come with max tow package? Did you recalibrate your speedo for the bigger tires, you might be getting better mpg than you think.

Do not have the max tow. I wish I could've gotten 3.73 gears on the Lighting Blue but it wasn't possible. So I have 3.55's.

I adjusted tire size via Forscan. So speedo is accurate.

Does your truck have trouble holding 10th gear with the added tire weight and will the truck shift into 10th at a higher speed now with the bigger rubber?
