Default 09 XL build (with a stache)

to front this all this is my first build ever and im doing it all myself. no shop work done other than the tire mounting and balancing.

i bought this truck bone bone stock. this thing is work truck all the way. terrible spare wheels all the way around. vinyl seats, no options at all. just the perfect truck for a build.

so far i have put tints all the way around, a pioneer double din nav unit, back up camera, reverse lights, third brake light, tail lights (after an offroad tree hit accident), bakflip g2 tonneau, billet grill upper and lower, re positioned license plate, american flag on the antenna, the amazing mustache on the back window, 18" kmc xd series crank wheels with 35" nitto terra grapplers, 3" front leveling kit, 1.75" rear shackles, nerf bars, and grill led lights.

future items will be.
6" rbp full lift
roof rack with spare tire
racon headlights
paint match the grill shell
then all engine work.

any and all feedback good or bad is greatly appreciated.

That's a good looking truck, my opinion is to lose the 4x4 decal and get the front plate mounted correctly.

Default How to plasti dip bumper

alright so i know that nobody is following my build. but someday people may.

so for this part i plasti dipped my front bumper. back will be done this weekend. came out good. and it was really easy. all is done after a car wash

1. spray nine and clean / abrade with green pad. easy does it. not trying to scratch all the chrome off, just trying to get the bugs off and lightly scuff the surface to make the plasti dip adhere better.

2. tape off. make sure that you tape well. the better your tape job the better the detail will be. anything that isnt chrome around needs to be taped. my pics can tell the story for this. only advice is make sure everything is dry before doing this.

3. alcohol. one beer for you and then wipe the surface to be painted with denatured alcohol. this will remove any oils from your hands, and will remove dust particles and remaining dirt. as well as particles from the abrading and spray nine. now you are all prepped to paint.

4. paint it. along the wheel wells i just held up a sheet of card board to make sure nothing went on the wheels or to far in the wheel well. be sure that you dont overspray on your grill or fenders or anything else. good tape should take care of that. number one tip for this is to do light coats. this stuff drys fast each coat so you can paint a second third etc... within 10-15 mins of each coat. but if you go to thick then you will have runs and ruin all you did. patience is key.

i only got 2.5 coats out of one can so id say 2 cans for the front. ill let you know about the back.

last tip is to make dang sure that everything is totally dry before spraying. i had a water bubble underneath the paint after one coat. just popped it with a knife and flattened it out. more coats after this mess up will fix it.

and thats it. any further questions feel free to ask.

i will show the rear when its done also.

I like what your doing man but plasti dip doesn't need All that masking. Overspray of plasti dip is very thin, thus you literally being able to rub it off where you see it. Looks good regardless

Default rear plasti dip

Did my rear bumper today. Came out well actually.
I feel like it covers and protects the underside of the bumper where its prone to rust too.

Also in the pics you can see my f150 emblem and ford embkem plasti dipped too.

I dont like the ford emblem. Gonna find an overlay or something.
I would remove it but ford put holes in the gate so I cant.
