The reason I am painting it is because the current paint has a very bad orange peel look to it and was painted very poorly. Like to the point that power washing the truck could take the paint off.
I know I will damage the paint but I would like the undamaged parts to look at least decent. I am also thinking about warping key areas with a clear 3M vinyl wrap. To try and protect the body a bit.

Hear are a few more pics of her before she got sent to paint. If you look at the front bumper it looks like its dirty but its actuary the paint is coming off. Should I just have it rhino lined or powder coated. The thing about powder coat is the bumper is welded to my frame and I have doubts that it could be powder coated while its installed on my truck.

So I have been thinking about my engine a lot lately. I want to either:
A) replace the engine
B) rebuild my engine
My goal is to have a strong running engine (and trans) with about 500HP and 500ft/lbs of torque. I want to keep the engine Naturally Aspirated so no turbos or super chargers.
This is an engine that I saw and liked from ford racing
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...KeyField=11892
$11,500
540HP
470 lb.ft. torque
but would the cost of having a shop install that engine be way more then building up my current 5.4L V8 Triton?
Hear are a list of possible upgrades I have been thinking about. If you have a better idea I would love to see links or hear your ideas. If I go this route I would like to have every thing purchased then just take the truck down to a shop have them install it and then do a Dyno.
Again I am not a mechanic so I don't know any thing about any of this .
Camshaft: XTREME ENERGY STAGE IV
$730
40HP gain
Pulley kit: MOTOBLUE
$200
10HP gain
CYLINDER HEADS: FORD RACING CNC PORTED 3V HIGH-FLOW Cylinder Heads
$3143.25
60HP gain
Trans: TCIŽ Valve Body Improver Kit
$90
0HP gain (is this worth it to just rebuild my trans to prolong its life?)

I would also do headers and a full exhaust. I am looking for an exhaust that is street legal but exits just after the cab and before the rear axle. With all that and a Dyno custom tune do you think I would be close to 500HP and 500ft/lbs of torque?

Definitely buy a new, built engine from Ford Racing. No doubt. Each of those things will add some horsepower individually, but with app of those things on your stock block, you won't make near 500. The 3 valve is holding the motor back. And make sure it runs on pump gas. And don't go with super high compression like 13:1. High compression motors need to be prepped at least every season and is not suitable for a daily. Also get a new, built tranny FOR THAT ENGINE! Put the two together and then drop it into the vehicle as one piece. Get custom headers for the engine. It's pricy but you'll love it. And Borla mufflers.
