Its been a while for sure, ha ha. Regardless, a couple things put on, one still in the works. During the time period, I happened to get a brand new, OEM power slider for my birthday. Thank you Ford for prewiring it... Also, I've been progressively trying to get an OEM navigation system working on the truck. Fully mounted and wired up, but it's still giving me a bit of headache. Far from over though. I'm a stubborn ol' mule with this stuff.

Its been a bit, but I actually got stuff done for once! First off, and the biggest thing, as of June 30th, I officially got the navigation system up and running for the first time. Failed disc reader; was not sending any A/V signal. Also picked up a nav disc, and while it works, its horribly outdated. Surprise, surprise. I'm just ecstatic to have the bloody thing working. I'll get the most UTD discs eventually, but there isn't a huge rush for them, and the latest disc for the system was the 2004 run.

Next up, I pulled a 6 CD changer from a expedition, and wired it up also. That went a lot easier, and only took me a day to do it. I now can use the single CD on the head unit, and the 6 CD changer in the console. Last thing is that I just got my sales brochure for this truck in the mail today. Mainly got it for the sales info on the Heritage edition.

I think I have a problem...

I also got power pedal setup from 2000 Expedition. My biggest question is if the bolt holes matched for brake and accelerator. Mine is 97 reg cab. The bolt holes for the accelerator don't match.

Also, my 97 brake pedal doesn't have a return spring like the power pedal. Would it matter? I don't know how brake pedal returns to initial position. Does booster push it back?

I would appreciate if you would write a little more about the swap. Thank you.

Alright, lets start from the beginning.

Concerning the mount holes, everything lined up for me. I cannot remember the year of Expedition I pulled the pedals from, as it was a while ago. Plus that truck has since been crushed. 1997 and 1998 were different in a multiple amount of ways, so this could be another difference, I wouldn't know. All I can assure you is that everything lined up for me, and needed no extra modding or fabrication.

Concerning the return spring, I doubt it would. Mine was the same way originally with no return spring either, though I have to assume it was put on to compensate for the extra weight of the motor. It won't interfere with anything, ans I didn't try at all to remove it.

Concerning the swap, there isn't too much to it. Remove the four nuts from the back of the booster, and pull the booster out a bit. It's a slight pain to navigate it around the fuse box, but it'll come out. Gas pedal is easy, and only requires the 3 bolts (I think), then it comes out. Swap the pedals, then work with the brake first. I remember it being a slight pain due to the spring, but I think all I did was halfway work it up into the mount spot, then tried to get the brake booster studs to line up with it. It takes a bit of messing around, but you'll eventually get it.

The gas pedal is the easiest to swap with the lack of any obstacles. Once again, the difference in design may come from the 1997 and 1998 differences compared to the later years. Other than that, you just plug it in when complete. Hardest part was the brake pedal for sure. It'd go easier next time for me, but it's still a slight pain.

Thank you for the explanation. I guess this is another case of 97-98 peculiarity. I replaced vacuum booster before and am familiar with the brake pedal area.
actually, I don't care much about adjustable brake pedal, but adjustable gas pedal I do need for my short legs. I will come up with something to get it to work. Thank you again.

More stuff, because I have an addiction. Four more things have been added on, all being OEM options for the generation, not particularly for the generation. First off, I added the keyless entry pad. Don't realize how much I would like or use it until I got one, lol.

Finally, a pretty unique one. Car phone from a 2000 Navigator. Next thing to do is convert it to digital.
