What happens if you back out of a purchase...?
"What happens if I'm experiencing buyer's remorse after sending a payment for an item on this forum?"
As a buyer, you might be interested in knowing how to handle a transaction if you've changed your mind about it. And as a seller who seems to be a magnet for that sort of uncertainty, I'm here to help.

- If you're dealing with a bout of Sudden Onset Buyer's Remorse (SOBR), make sure to come up with a totally believable excuse, preferably within the first 6-8 hours of purchase. Something involving a family member or pet usually plays well.
- Don't be too quick with coming clean about your condition. Give the seller plenty of time to close or cancel all of the other listings and auctions on other sites for the item you no longer want.
- Be sure that the transaction is complicated, and that either refunding the payment or return shipping--both, if possible--will be as painful as possible for the seller. Bonus points if you can involve international shipping, customs fees, and/or payments that take several days to clear.
- Buyers, if presented with an offer of partial credit or some avenue other than what you've explicitly asked for, you should definitely get indignant, insulting, and threaten physical violence if you deem it necessary. Nevermind what a judge or jury would rule as "reasonable."

I'm pleased to see no other sellers have encountered buyers afflicted with SOBR. Maybe its grasp on forum members is weakening.
