Is Realtruck a Scam?

I placed an order with Realtruck on 4/18, and was charged on my credit card that day. Since Monday of last week, I've tried 5 times to get an order status through the "chat" with no luck. On Friday 5/8, I spoke with customer service and was told the order tracking department would get back to me in 2 business days, No luck. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I'll think twice before ordering from them again!

Call your Card company and initiate a charge back before it goes over 30 days. Reputable companies do not charge your card before it ships. You have given them the benefit of the doubt and they chose not to respond. Now do what you need to.protect yourself.

I’m having a similar issue with them. I ordered a dash cover from them on 4/19, got charged for it, but haven’t received it yet. I got an update e-mail last week saying they couldn’t ship it yet due to COVID-19 and that I’d get an e-mail when it shipped, but nothing yet. Sounds like I may need to cancel my order and do the chargeback as well.

They are a vendor here and I have had no issues.
Between a tonneau cover and floor mats I've spent over a Thousand and have had no issues.

I have had some transactions with them this spring and the Covid19 thing has disrupted their employees offices and the vendors that are shut down in certain states. My toneau covers (3 so far due to water leakage) came directly from the vendor in Michigan which was pretty much shut down. There was a time lapse with RealTruck in Florida and Extang in Michigan. The Covid19 has been disrupting my business also with availability of repair parts for several of our vendors. There is a RealTruck member here that will probably stop in when he sees this thread.

As others have said, it is likely due to COVID. I however would do a charge back, they likely needed the money which is why they charged WAY before shipping. Bad business practice if you ask me.
When I've ordered from them (B.C.) the charge and shipping happened together.

If it's Covid related, they should say that. Silence is not acceptable, particularly in a time when companies are going out of business at an alarming rate.

That’s what they told me, which makes the delay understandable, just a little irked they charged me before shipping the item. I have 5 days before hitting the 30 day mark, if it hasn’t shipped by Monday I may cancel the order and do the chargeback.

Cancel it and call your card company. Today.

Why? Well, back in February, I bought a gift card from Costco, for a restaurant chain called Brio. $80 for a $100 gift card, a special deal.

I like the place, so we were planning to use the card up as soon as it warms up a little, they have nice outside patio seating.

So today, the local paper has an article about restaurants not re-opening, ever, in Vegas. Brio is one of them, because their company filed for bankruptcy in April.

So if Costco can't make it good, I'm screwed.

Better safe than sorry.:furious:

I've never ordered anything from them. I'm lucky to have a local mom and pop truck accessories store close by. They can get anything within a few days. Their prices are the same, if not lower than web stores... Support local....
