how to add factory TBC

09 + Additions of Factory TBC
Well i will start with, If you have the 4 pin and the round 7 pin plugs plus a factory hitch on your 09 + truck it is wired for the factory TBC. if not than you must go with a aftermarket one.
tools needed
1 - 8mm socket and ratchet
1 - pocket knife / utility knife
1 - ice chest full of beer for when your done (optional)
on the left hand side of radio. you need to pull out trim on bottom side working your way up on left side of trim piece. once you have it out on left side, slide it to the right side to finish removal pic
if your is 4x4 you need to remove the 4x4 selector switch. it is just a standard plug with a clip that holds it in place. push down on clip and pull
you need the 8 mm socket now, you need to remove the two screws (upper left and lower right ) that hold in your junk pocket.
and now pocket will move out, if your lucky there will be a factory plug attached at the rear of the pocket.
if not dont be scared its just up under your dash beneath the steering column!
sorry no pic for this one. but it will have a adapter on it, and taped to the diagnostic port. you will need to cut tape to free it up and rout it up to where the TBC will live now.
there is a dust cover that you need to remove only if the plug is not attached to the rear of the junk pocket. if plug is attached to pocket then skip this step.
here is said cover see it is very easy to remove just push down on tab on top center and it pulls right off.
once you have removed the cap / cover you can start to put stuff back start buy plugging in the TBC
it has the same holes as did the junk pocket. so slide it in to the dash where the junk pocket was and replace the to screws. make them tight so it wont rattle around.
if yours is 4x4 replace plug wiring back on to the switch on the trim panel.
now its time to replace the trim panel just go slow and slide it under the cluster plastic.( upper left hand side of trim panel)
then start at top and snap in just one snap in location.
then go to bottom and get it lined up.
when all snap in locations lined up push and try to snap them all at once. if you start at top and work your way down you will never line up last snap in location!
once that is done time to install the orangish / pinkish fuse (sorry i am color blind) its the one that goes in slot / position 21
and the other relay ( black) goes in slot 9
close up the fuse box and now this is finished and it should look like this.
this took me all of 20 minutes. it would have been quicker but i had to have a beer in between steeps. once you have this in your dash. you will need to have a dealer flash it to make it work. ill tell you how that goes after Monday. it shouldn't cost to much to do it and the parts guy i got the TBC from said bring it buy and thay will flash it for free.

as i had promised i just had it flashed! it took longer to get a cup of coffee in the vending machine than it took to flash the PCM! dude did a flash on my transmission with out me even asking and he told me it will help the 1-2 or 2-1 shifts witch took an extra 5 minutes

09 and 10 are different part #. but the 2010 part # i had was (AL3Z19H332AA)thats from memory and might have (SUB) on the end of it. it was $210. but i have a friend in the dealership who gave me the part at cost! then it was free to get the flash done. but if you buy the part and truck from the same dealer thay should flash it for free! only takes 5 minutes

i just did a buddies 2011 TBC module. in his truck its still the same proses just a different part number for the module, and flash tacks a Little longer.
just thought i would share my knowledge
