Resistor for LED tail lights
hey guys
i recently put LED bulbs in my tail lights on my 06 f150 and now i have hyper flash. i put a E27 flasher i believe its called to help control the flashing Signals flash normal agian but now my Crusise and my remote start wont work ( truck will start, run for 1 second then turn off as someone has stepped on the brake pedal ) put old halogen bulbs in and crusise and remote start work perfect I have read that you can put a resistor on each bulb wiring harness and it will stop the issue im having what i would like to know is what size i need? i can get 4,6 and 8 ohm resistors from my work ( they are made for LED applications ) thanks guys |
If you can get them from work then start out at 8 and work you way down untill everything is functioning properly.
|
Just measured the resistance of a regular bulb and it is 1.5 ohms. The 2 ohm resistor should work.
|
Or you can get a flasher rated for the load, an EP27L is rated for LED turn signals, from napa for like 22 bucks.
Or maybe that is already what you did? |
I purchased led taillights for my 05 supercrew , drivers side flashes normal but passenger side hyper flashes like when a bulb is out. Checked front bulb and it works fine
|
Hyper flash will go off for front OR rear if the truck thinks a turn signal is out anywhere on the truck.
|
I was just saying front turn signal on that side works rear turn signal blinks also

I just replaced my rear halogens with LED's from 4x4 truckLEDS's (900 lumens), with resistors; researched how to correctly place the resistors on youtube, and it took me like 15 minutes. Cake. LOVE the output, no hyper flash.
