After having to do some searching to find out the process to add cruise to my 2007 F150 XL I decided to make a quick how to video showing this.

Would anyone happen to have more specific info on how its "activated" or turned on?

I know it requires Ford diag. software, but I'm wondering if anyone has any first hand knowledge as to what specifically has to be accessed either with an IDS or NGS+, etc....

The dealer I get killer parts deals at seems to think its not possible or that they wouldn't do it. I can probably get a tech I know to do it on the side but I would like to know what needs to be changed or accessed so I have more info to present to him if he doesn't think it can be done.

I installed the buttons on my 06 V6 XL. I bought a steering wheel for cheap from ebay that looked like a dog chewed on it just to rob the buttons from it.

After installing the buttons, the first dealer I called for reprogramming said that it's not that easy and you need over $1000 worth of other parts plus labor plus blah blah blah.

Second dealer I called said yeah we'll give it a try. Within 30 minutes they changed the programming and I was on my way. Worked great. No other parts are required just like the video above claims.

I'm an electrician and have been working at a local Ford dealership on a remodel. I talked to the guys there and was told it only needs reprogrammed and will be about $50. They said the dealership that said I needed a new steering wheel, etc. Were full of it. Still haven't got mine programmed though lol. Also, I got the buttons on amazon with the part numbers I showed in the video for cheap.

Makes one wonder what other features are this easy to add, with just a flash of the BCM or ECU or what ever Ford wants to call it...

Did the OP ever get his activated? How much?

I have the same issue. I have installed buttons on a 2007 F150 XL that didn't come with cruise control. My Ford Tech friend told me I may have to install a master cylinder with a pressure switch on it. This was over the phone. Can any one tell me specifficks to how to program computer so cruise will work. Thanks

I installed the buttons md took it to the dealer. They said they programmed it but the cruise still isn’t working. It’s a 2004 XL F150. Any advice?

I just took my 2007 F150 XL, 6 cylinder, to the dealership to have the cruise control turned on after having installed the OEM buttons I purchased from a Ford parts dealer. The dealership was totally flummoxed. I showed them some directions I was able to find online that detailed the process used on a 2009 F150, 8 cylinder, but they said the build was totally different and they couldn't find some of the modules mentioned in the directions. Spent $185 for them to tell me they couldn't figure it out. Does anyone have directions for reflashing the controller on an '07 F150 XL, 6 cylinder?
