Hello everyone, newbie here. I just bought my 2014 Supercrew 5.0 - it was a hail-damaged salvage. The driver's mirror has a large chunk out of the plastic cover, so I'm planning on replacing the entire mirror. The existing mirrors are power adjustment only. No puddles, no signals, no heaters.

After reading the entire thread, do I understand correctly that the wiring for the puddles and signals is there, so if I bought mirrors with puddles and signals (not interested in the heated option), I could just remove the old ones and plug in the new ones without having to wire anything?

Thanks in advance of any help.

That is true. That is exactly what I did with my truck. The mirrors aren't cheap though.

You can also go with 1A Auto mirrors. They are good quality and way cheaper than OEM. You can ask their rep in here 1ATony to see if they have any discounts going on right now for the F150forum members.

Ok, disclaimer is I am old, and colorblind, don't hate me for asking this....

Just to make sure I got this right, for puddle lights, I connect one wire from the light to the purple (wife says its purple, looks brown to me) wire (interior lamp on diagram) and the other wire I can ground to the door?

Thank your in advance!

I just have to revive this thread as there is some false information here that is critical. If you own a 2010 XL then the wiring at the connector at the factory door may have the proper wires for turn signals, heat, and puddle lamps BUT the other end of the harness that goes to the SJB connector may NOT exist.

The puddle lamp +12V originates from pin 12 at the C2280C connector (gray located in the front of the main SJB C2280D connector). My 2010 XL has no wire going to Pin 12 and I need to install a pin and wire to the connector and manually attach it to the puddle lamp circuit. I need to find where the puddle lamp wires from the mirrors goes to and run a separate wire…

I’m pulling things apart right now to also diagnose why my turn signal lights don’t work on the mirrors; I’m going to first locate pin 12 on the C215 connector on the passenger side to see if it even has +12V when the right signal is activated. If not I’ll have to patch in wire to that too.

After investing two hours into this, I can confirm that the 2010 XL mirror circuit turn signal , puddle lamps , and heat are only “factory” wired from the mirror to the C237 connector that plugs in at the door jamb. As you can see in the photo below, the male side (body) is missing pins. The only proper solution here is to install the proper male pins. I plan on doing this once I gather parts and figure out how to remove the body side C237 connector; it has some oddball circular shell.

I should also note, the wires from the C237 body side connector should be wired directly to their respective circuits as the XL is missing all of the associated wiring for optional mirror features. Thus, the left and right turn signals should be spliced directly to the SJB’s C2280F connector pins 21 (left turn) and 23 (right turn). Puddle lamps go to the SJB’s C2280C connector pin 12. I did not dabble much with the heated mirror circuit but it looks like I need to see if the C212 connector (Pin 7) even exists but if it does, that’ll go directly to the left door’s C219 pin 39 and the right doors C237 pin 48.
