Has anyone accomplished this in a 2012? I am curious if there are any wiring color differences?

I am not exactly sure what to look for to see if the wiring is existing in my 2012.

Just finished mine yesterday....if I recall wires are green (pos) and black (neg).
I did mine by going through the puddle light access hole instead of removing my mirrors. The wires were not long enough so I had to pull the connector loose that goes to the existing leds on each mirror. That allowed me to pull the wires out where I could strip them. It was a royal pain in the **** getting the connectors hooked back up afterwards but I eventually got them. Other then that, was a pretty easy mod.

Is that all you need for puddle sensors, heated mirror and signal lights.... just 2 wires?
I figured there would be a mini harness for each. Or does it use a data connection to the mirrors?

If that is all I need to look for I will do it right away. This mod will be sweet if all I have to do is have a green and black wire to gain all features on the mirrors.

Can I bug you to let me know if I am understanding that correctly?

Jamie, that is not the case, sorry. Each feature has it's own circuit as far as I know. The puddle light has it's own wiring, the factory led signals have their own wiring, as well as the heating elements.

No basically , when you pop out the puddle light, it will be hanging by it's two wires. If you poke your finger up in the hole, you will feel the two wires that go to the factory led blinkers on the mirror. These 2 wires are the ones that I tapped in to. There was no slack to work with so I pulled the connector loose that goes to the factory led blinkers. That allowed me to pull the connector with the green and white wires out of the hole to make my connections. As I mentioned before, getting those connectors plugged back in by reaching up in the puddle lamp hole is a little challenging once you are finished. Most folks have popped the mirrors off and that allows much easier access to all the wiring. I just know how my luck runs....I would have broken something.

I have a 2012 F-150 STX, according to this the wires for the puddle lamp and the LED turn signal are on the harness in the door before the mirror connector that i need to tap into? My local dealer has the LED turn signal's for $49.99 each.

I just installed the rear facing turn indicators on a 2012 XLT. 1st door took about 4 hrs and a trip to the hardware store. 2nd door took 1 hr from start to finish.

I did find it easier and quicker to remove the mirror glass and the whole assembly from the vehicle in order to feed the wire through. I used an expandable sleeve to protect the wires. My only mistake (hindsight is 20/20) was soldering the wire to where they connect to the vehicle harness, just below the connector inside the door. A set of quick disconnects here would have been more clever.

A few pictures attached. Removing the 4 torx screws and the back of the mirror assembly came right off, allowing for easy routing of the cable.

I didn't wire the puddle lights.

Many thanks to the OP for getting me started. The dealer in Canada wanted $90 a piece + 12% tax for each light. I got both lights shipped from Tasca for $90 ($25 of that was 4 day shipping), no tax collected and another $4 at the hardware store for some 0.187 connectors (which aren't a perfect fit, but still snug enough).

For the mirror retaining clips (on the top 11mm bolt), just pull on the whole assembly and it will come off. When re-installing the mirror glass, check each clip to ensure it has properly latched.

2010 Ford F-150 Lariat with Power mirror w memory & turn signal & heat no puddle lights

if i understand this right the puddle lights wire does exist.

First connect the purple/voliet wire to the light.
what about the other connect to the light where does it come from im assuming it a ground right? is there an exist wire or just make a gound?
