Its honestly really annoying when people have hids in a halogen housing. Its really obnoxiously bright and the light is scattered every which way. Lots of people do it around here and it sucks

IMO i find projector housings more blinding with hids than halogen housings, sure halogen housings are bright but they dont 100% blind you when you get the wrong angle like projectors

No matter what you do, cheap HIDs in halogen housings will be blinding one way or another. A true retrofit is the best way to go In the long run for the best output and safest drivability to others. I did these myself in an afternoon. I have the FX-R Stage 3 kit.

Not the best quality pics in the world, but they get the point across! I did the retrofit on a set of new ebay heads. Not only are ebay heads waaay easier to get apart due to their cheap seal from the factory (I replaced the seal with a rubber butyl seal from TRS) but I also got a set of clear side reflectors to clean the look up on my front end. I painted the housings myself and cleared them with PPG urethane clear.

That's awesome! Yes that line at the top looks just like a factory setup. A lot of people around here (ATL area) add HID lights to their cars and trucks, and man it throws light EVERYWHERE. I get blinded and annoyed every time. Thanks for the info on how to do it right- I'll have to look those up.

Once my current headlights go out, I'm going to retrofit my old stock headlights and do something similar to this. Hopefully it will turn out as nice as yours!

Have a question for you guys using TRS.

Whats there difference between their Projector HID and their Retrofit systems? I really like the retrofit system with amber light, but it says the projector HID are the way to go. The lenses for both packages look the same.

For Projector HID really limited to M-1, and mini M-1.

Definitely! I just think more people should be aware of the right way of doing this! Here's a link to my build thread showing pictures of the entire process.
