I'm going to have to attempt this soon, with the belt minder disabled all that's left is the key in ignition chime
How 'bout the stupid Parking Brake chime?

I was wondering how sensible it might be to cut the wire and install shrouded bullet connectors. Less work, and immediately reversible (?)

Thanks for the write up !

Then you should move here to California instead... No one here uses the turn signals anyway

Exact same method that we did on the 04-08's. I might do it on this truck. It isn't half as annoying than the previous chime was.

Stingray,I would bet its not much longer to disconnect via the method the author of the post presented, then to cut the wire, add bullit connectors. The had part is the removal of the shroud, which is a 5 min.job.I like originality, once ya cut a wire, well your just, rube goldberging the deal, halfass in my opinion.its just a matter of taking the red protector off,10 seconds at best, then lifting the thin hold down, that pushes down on the wire connector to hold in in the clip housing. All that is needed is something thin, which is why I used a axacto knife blade I had hanging around and blunted the point off.A thin screwdriver, perhaps a flat toothpick??.But its just as easy,or easirer than cutting the wire and putting connectors on ,or thinking about splicing back in future,ANYWAY,I'm real glad I ran across this thread,AND,would love to know how the genius found out about what wire did the job. Good Luck, and thanks

This will stop the "open door chime" when your key is in the ignition and not running. Nothing else will be effected.

The vehicle pictured is 2013 F150 Platinum.

What you need:
  • 15 minutes
  • 5.5mm socket (7/32 will work)
  • 7mm socket (9/32 will work)
  • Small screwdriver to push in plastic tabs

Step #2

Let me know if i missed anything! This is my first write up! Thanks guys, goodluck.

Thank you Alt255
