I ran the antenna cable from the dash, to behind the glove box, then behind the left front passenger kick panel where the fuses are. Then to the front passenger sill on the floor where I went through a rubber grommet to under the cab. From there it was covered with 1/4 inch split wire loom as it hugged the frame with lots of zip ties as it made it's way to the rear. Then up behind the tail light and exited out of one of the holes near the tailgate.

Ran the antenna cable all the way to the back of the truck - had to mount it that way since I have a hard tonneau cover. I also got very lucky as the 4 foot Firestick antenna didn't need any adjusting - it was dead on perfect with the SWR meter.

Nice, I don't suppose you could send me which antenna and mounts etc. you used?
I'd rather not mount on the fender this time around, and I'm not happy with the antenna setup I had on my last truck. I was looking to go firestick this time.

Just wondering from People who have installed the CB in this position, has it damaged it at all? I heard if they sit in the sun, they can get damaged over time.

The only thing would be the LCD display. It's just as hot in the truck. If your worried about it when you at work or what not just park so the sun won't hit your windshield most of the day. I've had a cb on the dash of my hunting truck for years just sits in the yard and the sun hits it. Had it that way for several years.

Alright, thanks for the tips, I heard it would ruin them, but I wasn't sure.

If you have vent visors you can leave your windows cracked. I have a HF amateur radio in my f150 been in two different trucks over the course of 5 years still works like new. I'm in Florida so it don't get much hotter. Good luck

Don't have those yet, they are coming hopefully when the weather gets better, that and matching my front windows tint to my rears.

Lot's of guys use CBs still, most new transports have them, they come standard in most. I know the big truck FB group I am on uses them when they go offroading, or when they are just cruising together.

Use the CB all the time. It doesn't matter if I'm talking to truckers to get traffic updates, or talking skip to someone in Hawaii, it has come in handy plenty of times.
