Rear Seat Removal 2003 F150 SuperCab
Found several differing posts on removing the back seat of a 2003 F150 extended cab. After a lot of grunting and swearing, the job is done and I can share it here.
There are 3 brackets along the top of the rear seat back, each side and middle. This pic is what they look after the seat is removed so you can see what the goal is.
And this pic is of the top of the back of the seat, the latch that rests in the bracket.
So you can see, the challenge is to LIFT the seat back up and away from the bracket on the body. I found the easiest way is to hold the top of the seat with one or both hands, either side of the bracket location, and press the side of your knee into the seat back. Lift up on the seat back with both your hands and your knee, giving you enough leverage to raise the latch on the seat up and away from the bracket on the body.
After doing all 3 locations, the seat will just fall forward and release from the complementing/inverse brackets at the bottom of the seat.
Reinstalling the seat is the same process in reverse. Just make sure you get the bottom latches hooked in their brackets, then do the tops.

Thanks for the post.
Thanks for taking the time to post this as well as the pictures. This is the best detailed description of how to remove it that I've found. And the only one that has had pictures as well. I am adding several Ham Radio antennas and like to make them look like a factory install by making and sealing holes where they can't be seen and hiding wires under carpets and so on.
Thanks Again

2003 F150 supercab rear seat removal of back
This is a close up of one the the 3 top clips that your back seat top locks into.
Here you can more clearly see the groove that the bottom 2 guides slip into.
The new seat covers installed.
The bottom guides x 2. These are what makes it so hard to remove the rear seat back. The wire locks to the groove preventing you from lifting the seat back up off the 3 top clips. You can reach in and feel it but it is difficult to apply enough pressure with a finger to unlock it. So a strategically placed knee or palm of hand to the area above it is one way to get it to release.
The seat portion of one of the hooks that lock into the top 3 clips.
The new seat covers installed.
Seat back ready to slip into bottom guides x 2. Be sure all 3 top wire guides are back far enough to slip into the clips before you push down to lock the seat into place.
