yes...i got mine out without taking them off but i didnt do it exactly like the article says...basically i got some very long needle nose pliers and put one side inside the silencer and one side outside...clamped on and twisted the handle untill the silencer ripped i did this 3 times at different places then i got 3 vise-grips and grabbed hold of the plastic where i ripped it and twisted...the plastic twists around the pliers and it turn makes the diameter of the silencer smaller and it allowes it to come out without taking the rubber ends off
after reading that ^^^ again it may be confusing to you...pm me if so

i was playing with mine today, its got both ends glued on, and i can stick my finger down there and am able to stick one in the baffle, so i know its there...maybe ill try that method tomorrow...

it didnt change anything, and the interior has so many baffles that i think removing it is causing more turbulance then its causing performance...didnt notice any sound changes....pointless waste of time damaging a intake as far as i see it

i hacked up my air filter part that on the fenders side so the filter was exposed made truck louder and ran good at high speeds but was sucking in engine heat makeing it slow on take off, got a nother stock one from junkyard for $10 .i would like a fully functioning hood with any metal intake colder than plastick?

ok there is a much simpler way to do this, at least on a 2002 f150 V8 5.4 litre... instead of dremeling, pull apart the two peices of plastic with a screw driver, by the two pieces i mean there is space between the silencer and outside intake.. it should pry apart.. this works

it doesnt do anything...ill even prove it, and if im wrong, ill admit i was wrong...ill data log it on livelink if someone has a 04-06 4.6 intake with the mod around and a stock one...i have neither

well lets all keep in mind that all trucks are gonna run different and act differently to this modification based on temapture other mods, how you drive it and your truck and elevation.

I've been reading about the silencer removal and the Gotts mod. and I have a question: Wouldn't the computer just give more fuel to compensate for the additional air flow?? Just a stoopid question, but I'd like to know if it would help me milk a few more MPG out of this truck.
