Red face

I just changed the solenoid and made some testing before and after.. before, everything worked fine one time but then made the same thing about all spinning with engine running (made couple of tests to each tire)

I replaced the solenoid with the new one and after doing the test a couple of times again, it worked as it should even after I took it for a 1 mile ride.

Now it happened something that I haven't experienced before. When I was on the ride, the car turned off a couple of times. Went back to my house and I accelerated the car for about a minute and when I took the foot out of the pedal, the rev went down to shut down the engine again.

I got a message from the board saying "check gauges"... did any one experienced the same thing after changing the solenoid? Any ideas why this could happen?

Thank you in advance,

Solenoid won't make any difference like that. Have your battery and alternator tested.

Guys, I am having a problem that when I turn hard or hit a bump just right something starts grinding under my truck. When it happens I put it in 4 hi and it stops. Does anyone have any idea what this might be?

Might be losing vacuum or have low vacuum to your 4X4 system. Do the tests starting on the first page of this thread.

Had this with my 12'... dealership replaced my IWEs... shop forman said they were cracked (however that happen) I guess they would hold vaccume but whenever I hit a bump the crack would separate enough to allow vaccume to escape. My half shafts would engage until I parked or until I put it in 4H and back into 2wd. He didn't tell me if that's all they change but I do know that they changed those. They started by just changing the passenger side (where the noise was coming from) but... after it was "fixed "both sides started doing it louder and it took almost nothing to get it to do it (a slight curve). Good luck... was without my truck for 3 weeks while they *****footed around trying everything else first.

You might be able to call lamarque ford in kenner, LA... they went back and forth with "ford" and they had not seen this issue to be able to give them any direction. I may have been the first case for all I know. I can call if you want to see for sure. You have your dealer call my dealer and we'll do lunch lol

Mine started after having my leveling kit installed... ***** in the shop probably used a regular hammer to beat it appart instead of a rubber mallet. Your symptoms are literally identical to what mine were... word for word! It did it when I turned sharp or hit a bump. Wasnt really a grinding noise though. Sounded like I had a mud tire on my right front but regular street tires on the rest (you know the loud MT humming, sorta like a prop plane in the distance) which was caused by my half shafts engaging at the hub (IWE) but not at the transfer case
