Currently working on one of my headlights. Taking them apart went pretty well for me, about 15 minutes. Im scared to see how hard it's gonna be to sill back up. This is what I got so far... That's after 1 coat of krylon flat black. Plan on doing 2 more coats

One complete and now silicon is curing. Went alittle overboard with the silicon but I'd rather it be sealed good then not sealed at all. Other ones paint is drying.

Sorry for 3 post in a row just wanted to keep everyone updated because I just got them on the truck. Love the look and the one I put on last night has no moisture so they sealed up awesome.

I'm thinking about doing this but instead of flat or gloss black making it black chrome...I bet that would look awesome

You did a great job

Thank you I went with flat black and I really like the look. The shiny headlight housing really work well with the flat black. Ive had 3 or 4 comments in the last day or day and a half

Did you put any silicon in the little well or just on the outside when you put it bak together?

When you get all the original sealant out fill that with silicon but test fit it first and make sure everything fits the way you like. after it's back together I ran another bead of silicon around it over the seam and rubbed it in with my finger.

Most definetly not. Your oven should be fine, keep in mind you can put you own twist on things. I did mine at 220 for 10 minutes and it worked well. Its alot of trial and error, your going to run into problems. Just be patient, take your time and it will turn out great. The original sealant is a pita to get off, but make sure you get it all out or it wont reseal right.
