My camera (
this one this one
) had the same thing. The pictures on Amazon don't show it, but the video plug at the head unit end had a short red wire coming off it. I tested with a meter to be sure, but on my camera that red wire gets +12V when the camera has power. So if you wire the camera to your reverse lights, you can use that short red wire that comes off the video plug as the reverse sensor for your head unit.

I was expecting to have to tap into the reverse wire in the drivers side kick panel so I was pleasantly surprised to find the camera wiring harness solved my problem.

There's a rubber grommet at the far end of the channel that you can go through that comes out under the truck. One of the original pictures I posted shows the location.

Ahhh, cool coool. How many feet of cable did you use for the video? Yellow cable isn't it? And I have the same head unit a you but the newer version. So you connect it to the back for the video feed, but what about power? How does that work?

They do make a rear view kit, but I want it through the nav display. I may just sell my head unit, since they still command decent money and buy a unit that's camera ready.
