Installing a backup Camera

I know the answer to that, but do you really need a $200 backup camera?

Wondering if anyone can help with this. I installed the backup camera already. I have a kenwood dnx 9990 hu. Have it working. I'm getting a picture interference when I have in reverse. I thought it was a connection problem. I redid all of them over. Still was going on. The I changed the cheap RCA cable it came with, with a solid Pearson one. Still occurring. Any ideas. I'm thinking in my be the camera or I need a video line amplifier.

BTW, what type camera do you have? Is it a cheap one from China? I am going to buy one... just dont want to have the same problem.
If the camera was tested on a bench and it works I would think it's the wiring. Video is very picky, especially when traveling 20 feet. Try twisted shielded pair wire, maybe 20awg.
Get some shielded twisted pair wire and run it from the camera to the monitor, just hang it outside the truck, do not route the wire, test it first, if it works your good, route the wire through the truck.

When I rewired it, I used a 20ft Pearson gold series video cable. I ran it from the camera straight to the hu. I also redid the connectors for the ground and power. Those cables are cheap. But I don't think they could cause a problem. Or can they?
If they are not shielded they can pick up a ton of noise from the truck, the longer the cable the more noise it can pick up. Try what I suggested in the earlier post and let me know how it goes? You can try a coax cable too, RG6, same as used for cable tv, just use the adapter from F connector to RCA.... However you have only two leads. with twisted pair you have two leads, video + and video -, you also have shield, a third wire..... which is used on stock ford cameras.. I went with shielded twisted pair.
