WVXC450R, your video cable should be plugged into the VIN port. That's your video in.

Piggy back the power cable onto the video cable and pick up the power at the head unit.

Ground it to your bumper, connect your reverse trigger and you should be all set unless something is set wrong on your head unit.

Blacknback, you are the man! I followed your directions step by step and had zero problems on my 2001 Lariat. I installed a Pioneer AVIC-X940BT with a Pyle PLCM18BC camera. From wiring the stereo to wiring the camera and reassembling the dash/door sills it took about 3.5 hours in the freezing CT weather (camera bolts to license plate). It was a little sad when I had to take a dremmel to my dashboard to fit the h/u but I am so satisfied with the results. I also installed a 49" LED light bar under the tailgate in the same day. I went to put the truck into reverse to try the lightbar and blew a brakeline!! Luckily I was in my driveway but can't get over the irony. If anyone wants a pic or needs help let me know. Plan on installing LED driving lights on my brush guard and tying them to my high beams in the next few weekends too.

Having an issue with my back up camera. I have a 2007 F150 with a kenwood DDX470 head unit and a audiovox CMOS2 back up camera. The reverse trigger is wired to the black and pink wire on the kick panel, with an video cable routed to the back of the truck. The camera's positive and negative are wired through the drivers side reverse light. It triggers that it is there but the display shows up black with no input. Any idea's what could be causing this??

Can you test the voltage with a multimeter to see if the camera is getting power? I wired my positive and negative leads to the power supply/ground for my head unit (h/u) and had no problems with power. Can you check the manual to confirm you plugged the camera cable into the correct input on the head unit for reverse camera and not just "video" input? Camera not getting power or camera not relaying correct input to h/u are the only 2 things it could be if the h/u is switching to reverse display.

Along with what J-Yankee said....make sure your camera is plugged into the middle one of the three yellow plugs on the back of your head unit. Also....make sure your "parking brake" wire is grounded or hooked to a relay.

I just fitted a pioneer AVH-x5500bhs. I just used a rocker switch mounted under the 12v aux power out. When the system says to place in park, simply flick the switch on and off and then click.

Sounds like your camera is not powering on. Use a voltage tester to ensure you have power at the camera but be aware that most CMOS cameras will not be a full 12v where the camera plugs into the harness. This is because there is a resistor in the harness that drops the voltage down to around 3.5v. Yours may be different but just something to watch out for.

Also, if you have a small video monitor lying around the house you can use it to test the camera. This bypasses any issues you may be having with your head unit.

You probably didn't get the camera from us but you can call us if you need some additional help.

Same here. Most people on here prefer the relay route though so I always mention it.
