why would anyone not get a ecoboost?
I know I have a thread on the first page askimg what to get, but for a moment say both engines cost the same, why would anyone not get a ecoboost? More torque/hp/gpm. Am I missing something? If eco is so good why have a 5.0?
Edit: aslo what engine does better in the cold? I live in the yukon so winter is -30 to -40 Celsius and its colder more then warm on a yearly bases.
Are their any reportes problems with the condensation problems on the 2013 engines? Or just the 11/12? Does this problem accure from snow?

They don't cost the same, some like the V8 sound over raw power, some are worried about the problems some are having. I could never have anything else again. And my SoCal tune just doubled down on that.

There's just some people that think a truck has to have a V8. I love my Eco. It's the most fun I've had with a vehicle, and I have a 78Z with almost 500hp, and I have more fun in my truck!

Because a Big V8 (6.2L) & the Raptor just go together. HAHA!
I was set on getting a 2012 FX4 with the EB until I decided to jump and order the Raptor. ..but, if for some reason the Raptor disappeared, I would get a FX4 with the 6.2 now that it's available.

Keepin' the lights on!
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE high HP V8 sound but there is just something about some turbos singing away while you pull a steep grade in 6th gear. Some people are just not open minded to the idea. I get this at work all the time. They ask how that v6 is going to hold up over time because it is spinning so much faster to do the work of a v8. They just don't get it, I can just let the low down torque do the work and never have to down shift on the same hills that would make a NA motor downshift.
That being said, if I lived in a rainy, humid area, I may have looked at a different option.
MPG wise, I could do about the same, maybe better with a NA motor. Who knows, maybe not. I knew that going into this. I'm not at all disappointed with the mpg I get-23mpg on the last tank.
Towing, there is no comparison. This little motor can tow. Very happy with that aspect. That is what sold me on this motor. That and I knew the aftermarket would jump all over it. I usually don't leave stuff stock.

And the little V6 is NOT spinning faster as it typically tows at 1700-2100 RPMs vs frequent 3000-4500 for the V8s.
Ford is the only company selling over half of its full sized trucks with a V6 instead of V8s.
